As others have stated. Please avoid her if possible. She cut me off THREE times because she had no interest in hearing my life story (isn't that was a psychiatrist needs for a proper diagnosis?) She dismissed my concerns and rolled her eyes at me then when I told her I may have a symptom that was part of a bigger problem, she didn't care. Unbelievable. It took me two years of thinking everything was my fault and maybe I should "try harder" to fix myself on my own until I decided to get a second opinion. The second opinion was validating and showed me that this is not how all psychiatrists are. I rarely leave reviews but seeing her when you're struggling could very well be dangerous to your well being if you don't know what to expect. I am determined to leave as many reviews as I can because this behavior as a psychiatrist is just wrong when someone is coming in and hoping to trust you.

Condescending and Belittling
My most horrific health care experience ever. I opened up and shared everything with the doctor I met with (not Harvey-a resident). We talked about my crippling anxiety following sudden cardiac arrest (at an early age and recent) and my long history of anxiety and depression, even childhood abuse. I was in crisis! The doctor speaking with me recommended increasing my current antidepressant dose to ease the panic and anxiety. I was happy with that decision. But then Dr. Harvey came I and with a parody of concern and condescension and withheld any treatment unless I went to rehab. It was obvious that she has had someone in her life with addiction issues she projected onto me. It was very bad for my already fragile state of mind (and body). She put me off seeking psychiatric/psychological help.

Horrible bedside manner! I’ve never in my life been talked to like this by a doctor.. I was at UTMB to see a psychiatrist for the first time, and he inexplicably brought Dr. Harvey in the room towards the end of the appointment. I don’t know why. Two weeks prior, my amazing PCP had started me on a new medication, and I was happy to report that I was already feeling improvements. Well, Dr. Harvey then belittled and mocked me for my past substance abuse problems, pointing what little progress I’ve made. She talked down to me like I’m a child, and even said she would change my medication regimen, which fortunately did not happen. I never made a follow up appointment. This was almost three years ago, and I hope she has learned to be less condescending towards patients since then

She kept me on a high dosage of bupropion despite it exacerbating my chronic migraines. To compensate, she gave me a higher dosage of topiramate; a very common side effect of topiramate is decreased cognitive function. I was having worse migraine and functioning poorly in school, but she wouldn't change my medications even when I asked! Please, avoid this doctor.

RUN FROM THIS WHACK JOB I have made several phone calls to your office in an effort to speak with you about your report dated March 16, 2018. You have not taken my phone calls nor have you returned my phone calls. I would hope that you would have an interest in producing a factually accurate and correct evaluation, using factual statements that I used or accurate statements that I made to you. In reading your report it seems that you have misunderstood, misheard or heard incorrectly what that I

Her after decades of practice was involved w patient taken off daily 60mg of Adderall, she told family that the patient was not motivated, unengaged, slept too much, had no enthusiasm and did not apply himself. The family threw in the towel on him. He was transferred to an arbitrary halfway house in FL w mostly schizophrenics. Please research “wash out off Adderall” “Adderall cold turkey” & in two minutes you will know why the patient could barely keep his eyes open for almost three months.
