Unresponsive doesn’t answer calls.

>Arrogant. >Makes unprofessional comments about fellow practitioners. >Minimizes patient concerns. >Fails to listen to patient concerns. >Fails to answer patient questions. >When pushed for answers he will divert to another topic. >Will make effort to patient to comply with unsubstantiated tests.

My daughter has been under Dr. Jackson’s care for 2+ years. I have had to deal with his assistant/nurse (gate keeper) nearly every month to get a refill on her “maintenance prescription”. While this is very frustrating, there is no compassion on the assistant’s part. She is curt, rude and my most recent experience yielded 4 calls on my part, one week of time to lapse, and a refill of only 14 days worth of medication that my insurance doesn’t recognize (since it’s not a 30, 60 or 90 day supply). The assistant and Dr. Jackson both knew that my child was without her prescribed medication for nearly a week and had no compassion or urgency in helping rectify the situation. In addition, Dr. Jackson has rushed appointments with us. And I was told this past week that a phone conference appointment that Dr. Jackson had with my daughter was “not on record” (even though I was sent a bill for it).

Dr. Jackson was totally professional, with a kind personality and a great listener. Even when you interrupt, cause you have so much to say. He was a very positive and patient Doctor! Recommend her for sure!

I've been with Dr Jackson for 3 years. He is great! He is easy to talk with, respectful, and to the point! If you want to talk alot, he can refer you to a counselor. But if you need medicine, he'll effectively evaluate you and see that you're prescription needs are taken care of.

My experience with Dr. Jackson was a complete waste of time. I asked him several questions and he did not have any answers for me. When he didn't have an answer for the questions I was asking he immediately said I have to get a second opinion. I also asked him how long he had been practicing medicine and he would not tell me. I told him I was going to look it up on the internet, he said ok. He is very unprofessional. I was talking to him and he picked up his cell phone and started texting someone. Stay away from Dr. Edwin Jackson.

Dr.Jackson is great but it's a shame and extremely frustrating that I have to leave several voicemails or wait 48hrs just get a call back to a simple question! The office clerk is no help either saying all I can do is transfer you to the voicemail.

Dr. Jackson is a great psychiatrist, my son enjoys seeing him weekly. He is professional, curteous and polite. Explains things thoroughly. I do wish however that Suncoast would allow more time than 15 minutes with him. Since their regular receptionist left/retired almost a year ago everyone else is horrible, do not answer the phone, rude and very little eye contact.
