Dr. Edward Tarlov, MD

In 1989 I had a disk (L-5) that was actually broken in half. He went in and did a fantastic job. I am 74 years old now (40 when I had the surgery) and have NO ill effects whatsoever. I play golf at least 2 times a week and walk on average 10 miles a week. Thank you again Dr. Tarlov.

I live in Canada. I have a 6 x 2.5 x 3cm cyst in my sacrum. I would really like to ask Dr. Tarlov a question. No I have not had treatment by Dr. Tarlov. Even though your dad first noticed these cysts in 1938 it was 10 years later he confirmed these cysts can be symptomatic. 74 years later the medical field still deny these cysts cause pain. I've been in chronic nerve pain day and night for 8 years.I know surgery is risky. The medical students need to be taught what your father confirmed 74 years ago. I don't want my dauhter or granddaughter to go thru' what I am. What can I do to change this????? Please, I'm desperate.I 'd like the students to be taught the truth and acknowledge we are in pain, it's not all in our heads.A new medical student who hears that Tarlov Cysts are a rare medical condition and the cysts can be very painful.Surgery is risky, maybe a student/s will be up to the challenge of doing research finding non invasive safe ways to treat these cysts.THANKS for reading
