Excellent Doctor & Surgeon - Highly Recommend
Dr. Szuszczewicz goes by 'Dr. Ed' and he did my wrist/hand surgery for a bad fall and a break/dislocation. He saw me the day after the injury and scheduled surgery for the very next day, which we really appreciated. Surgery went well. Followups and x-rays went well, I started PT and healing up excellent ... So far so good. I found Dr. Ed to be very competent, thorough and friendly. Dr. Ed and the office staff provided excellent care. Highly Recommend! A+++

Do not use this man
Never met with us before surgery, left infection in my husbands leg on top of a tip of a drain tube, this man should not touch people.

Based on only my first visit, which went well. I felt the doc understood my problem - found the sore spot immediately. He offered 2 courses of action - I chose the least invasive to start. He might not be the best at offering info but if you ask, he does take the time to explain it. In his defense, he did seem overly busy today. I had to wait 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time just to be taken to an exam room, where I had to wait another 25-30 minutes for an xray, and then another 5-10 minutes after that for the doc to actually examine me. His nurse was fantastic. Gave me her cell phone for if I have any questions or concerns.

He replaced my left hip in 2005. I never completely got over the pain after surgery. Two months ago (2020), my right hip was replaced by a different surgeon in Indiana. When he looked at my films, he said that Dr. S did a terrible job. The implant is poorly positioned. Leg length discrepancy was over an inch. I got a second opinion from Dr. Craig Loucks at Peak Orthopedics in Denver who also said my hip placement was out of alignment by 1 and 3/8 inches. If I had to do it again, I would choose Dr. Loucks a million times over Dr. S.

Congenital hip displasia and Perthes disease resulted in fused hip at age of 12. 3.5" difference in leg length. Fusion failed at age of 42 and I received a total hip replacement by Dr. Ed. He was able to replace the joint and reduce the leg length difference to under 1" while working with a shortened sciatic nerve. I was back to work the following week. 13 years post surgery and I have no issues, no pain, and ski, mountain bike, hike, dirt bike and play tennis as if I've always had a functioning joint. I feel he is a very creative and dedicated surgeon/craftsman.

I had the unfortunate experience of doing severe damage to both my knees although many years apart. The good thing is Dr. Ed did fantastic work. It's been close to 20 years & still going strong!

I had rare tumors in my knee and Dr S removed all of them and provided me with pictures that he took. He is easy to talk to and very nice. I would recommend him and plan to go back for my other knee

Dr. Ed is not just a superlative surgeon with extensive experience doing hip replacements (my particular procedure) but he is a legit human being. He's kind, patient, listens well, gives all the time you need in the consultation, has a sense of humor and really cares about the life you want and may have lost due to osteoarthritis. I was pretty emotional in our first talk, but he totally got it, that I wanted to hike again, up and down hills, be MYSELF. He's the best. 7 weeks out, no pain.

Don't allow him to do a partial knee replacement with the intent of doing a whole knee replacement. He will cause you pain!

Dr. Szuszcewicz has replaced both of my hips for me in the last year. He is always professional & courteous as is his staff, (specifically his assistant Sadie Walley). I would not trust any other surgeon based on my experience. Both surgeries went exactly as he described and I no longer have any pain in either hip. My only regret is that I did not see Dr. Ed sooner.

Had both knees replaced 8 months apart. Almost pain free within days, ambulatory same day and back to eork in two weeks. Second operation recovery eas even faster than the first. Dr. Ed gets on with the job so don"t expect loads of bedside attention! Great orthopedist ... no hesitation recommending him.

I broke my ankle and had to have surgery, first time breaking anything at 49yrs old. I was blessed to have found Dr Ed, He was not only knowledgeable but did a fantastic job on my ankle surgery, I needed six screws and a plate. He put my mind at ease and didn't laugh when I told him I needed to pray before surgery with him. He knows his stuff but does not have the "God complex" I've experienced with other doctors. He is well respected by the hospital medical staff and I could see why.

Dr Szuszczewicz has been my doctor since 2008. I liked him immediately. He replaced both knee joints and myself and one on my husband. I liked that he didn't rush to do surgery but encouraged me to wait until I really needed it. He explained everything in details. Since my husband and I are both critical care nurses he was able to speak our language. He was honest, professional and made himself available on any occasions when we needed him.. He is an excellent surgeon.
