Dr. Edward Downing Jr, MD

I gave 4* because he is now retired. It’s sad to see there aren’t that many reviews here. Most people only do a review when they’re mad. I may not have gelled with Dr. Downing’s personality type but that’s what makes the world great. We are all different. As a Dr, he did his job knowledgeably & professionally. I’ve run into cranky receptionists @ every business. Sometimes people have a bad day & bring that to work w/ them or another patient gave them a hard time earlier that day. We’ve all been there. We’re human; fallible, imperfect. I’ve had 3 sleep studies by St. Joe’s Sleep Clinic from 2008-2015. 1 was done elsewhere in 2013 & corroborated Dr. Downing’s diagnosis’. My continued care maintenance was done regularly through my primary care physician. They all coordinated efficiently & effectively. I’ve now moved out of state & truly miss the unparalleled care I received there in NY. I highly recommend this office for anyone dealing with any sleep disorders.

I liked Dr Downing. He is a quiet gentle man and he knows his stuff.

Dr. Downing reviewed the results of an overnight sleep lab study for my Doc. His report was filled with errors. It appeared as though some of the information presented was from the last person the "form letter" had been filled out for. After two phone calls and five written requests, never even heard a peep from his office. I gave up. Once he was paid, forget about it, he has no interest in his service whatsoever.

Was diagnosed with pneumonia by my PC but wasn't getting better so I was referred to Dr. Downing. He has zero communication skills and is short and has no patience. Snapped at my son who was with me and is very judgmental and doesn't listen. Nursing staff was nice but he is not someone I can see.

My husband has been a patient of Dr. Downing for over 25 years. We have always found him and his staff to be patient, caring and helpful.

I have an appointment with Dr Downing At 1pm Aug5, 2016. I waited for this appointment for several months. I showed up at 1:12pm and I was told he cancelled my appointment because I was late. They've moved from the NE medical building & I couldn't find them there. Google shows their new address is at Red Ribbon Restaurant in Fayetteville. Called office since 12:45pm and no answer. I've waited over 30min last visit. This doctor has no empathy & could care less. The receptionist is even worst.

Dr. Downing started out as a good dr.. but after 15 years, I didn't see much of him. I was mostly seen by the np Pat. Even when I felt tat I needed to see to see the dr the recep. just kept making me appts to see pat.After 3 fails of trying to have an appt with the dr. I decided it was time to get another dr. and I am so glad that I did.. I've had the new dr for the past 3 1/2 years and I'm glad I didn't look back
