Dr. Edward Allen, MD

Dr. Allen is the best O.B. So respectful and kind. Gentle and explains everything beforehand. He delivered me 1980 and also delivered my 3 children . and hopefully he will get to deliver my grandchildren.

I have been seeing Dr. Allen for four years and really like his bedside manner.

He neglected me so bad after a surgery. He lost my file and made me wait over 2 hours and then very rudely the receptionist said that they lost my file. He didn’t even talk to me after surgery and nobody checked on me. He laughed of me the first time i explained my symptoms and was very disrespectful when i expressed my struggles to get pregnant. He showed no compassion or professional ethics. I think the surgery has something he wants to hide and he just “lost” my file.

He ordered more tests which, demonstrated his concern for my health.

I've had several obgyns but Allen's is my favorite. Hes been my doc since 2004. I've had a miscarriage, one child and a hysterectomy with Allen as my doctor. Wish I had him for my first 2 babies. My biggest love for Allen is when he does the papsmears it don't hurt. When I had lower belly tenderness he did what he needed to, to find out why and he fixed it. He's a great doctor. My only concern now is his age and lack of memory that can go with that. But so far it's not been an issue. I've never been rushed or felt uncomfortable or had my questions unanswered. Thank you Doctor Allen for being the greatest !!!

Dr. Allen has been so kind. I have lots of little ones and he is great and patient when they are along as well.

I don’t think my survey went through to Dignity Health because they said I had timed out….. so I want to send my comments here: “Dr. Allen is the most caring doctor I’ve ever seen. He takes his time to get to know you personally and he isn’t in a rush to get you in and out and leave you feeling completely uncared for like your Dignity Health doctors on 9500 Stockdale in Bakersfield. It’s sooo refreshing to see in Dr. Allen the old time quality care that doesn’t exist in your other facilities. You say you do these surveys to improve quality care but it feels like you are just going through the motions. I feel this is just a business to you and your doctors and you don’t listen to how people feel anyway, so why waste time on your surveys. Will anyone even read this? I’ll never get an answer to that. I’m only really writing to thank Dr. Allen for being such a wonderful exception and a caring human being.

Dr allen is by far the WORST doctor I’ve ever been to. I’m currently pregnant with my first child and he has made every appointment uncomfortable for me as well as being terrible at communicating. I constantly am asking questions to which he brushes them off or if I feel something isn’t right he will cut me off and tell me I’m just fine. This is my first child and I have had just the absolute worst experience of my life. I get anxiety every time I have an appointment and have a mental breakdown almost every time after I leave.
