Dr. Benavides is a wonderful doctor, however, his office staff leaves less to be desired. The office manager is rude and condescending to patients. She even told me I needed to find another doctor. She discarded a document I signed without my knowledge or consent, which should be a violation of HIPPA law. I also took in FMLA paperwork to be completed by them, which I was to pay for. I requested it be expedited and was told that by law, they had 15 days to complete it. They called 25 days later, after both their and my HR's deadline to tell me the paperwork was ready to be picked up. Wow, how timely they are! I would recommend Dr. Benavides, but not the office staff. They have proven they don't care about the patients they are supposed to serve.

Dr. Benavides is a good Dr. He does try to let you know what's really going on with you. After many yrs of other Drs not being able to find out what was going on with my body/chronic pain, couldn't sleep several other issue he found it out. Guild me what I really didn't want 2 hear. Help me wrk thru it. But what I Don't LIKE is that front office ppl. Rude, unprofessional, uncaring about the patiences coming in even the elderly. They don't get the paperwork done in timely manner.

While Dr. Benavides is an adequate D.O. with an engaging and kindly bedside manner, rather than diagnosing conditions himself he sends patients out to specialists. This is time consuming, costly, and frustrating to a patient. The office is busy enough that this leaves no time for ensuring communication between the specialists and the D.O. Terrible office help. Surly, with appointment times mixed up. This has happened more than one or two times in my personal experience.

First, they brought me back to a dirty room. "You can have a seat in there" "Um...after you clean it". Took me to another room ... no crumpled paper, so no immediate tell-tale signs of cleanliness. No one washed there hands. MA tapped my forehead a couple of times with the temporal scanner ... huh, no fever, go figure. Didn't check my BP ... why should they? 55 year old woman with abominal pain. Handed me a cup for a UA ... no wipes. I ask and am told "Yeah ... it's a clean catch."

Their front office is very disappointing. How can you in today's electronic age not accept electronic faxes? It is was too difficult to get Pharmacies to send a manual fax because they choose to not upgrade their faxing capabilities. It makes it very difficult when trying to continue prescriptions when changing doctors.
