Dr. Douglas Zakolski, DO

I would not recommend Dr. Zakolski if you have depression/mental health issues. I went to him due to severe depression. After I tearfully explained how bad I'd been struggling recently just to make it through the day he asked me if I'd seen any medications on TV that I might like to try. I was dumbfounded and appalled at the same time. I told him that I was there for his recommendation, not the recommendation of a commercial. He told me there were lots of options but he wasn't sure which ones my insurance would pay for. I was frustrated at this point. He decided on a medication, sent it to the pharmacy and told me to return in 3 months. I left the office so upset. At that moment I understood why some people take their own lives. Not that that was something I would consider but reaching out for help is hard enough when dealing with a mental health issue, feeling like the person you thought would help you, could care less leaves you feeling helpless.
