Wonderful Blepharoplasty experience
I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Dr. Douglas Sidle and his incredible Northwestern team! From my very first consultation, Dr. Sidle and his PA Erin made me feel comfortable and confident in my decision to undergo blepharoplasty. Dr. Sidle took the time to listen to my medical concerns, explain the procedure thoroughly, and set realistic expectations. The surgery itself went smoothly, and the recovery process was much easier than I anticipated, thanks to the detailed aftercare instructions. Now that I’m 2 months past surgery and healing, I am absolutely thrilled with my results! My eyes look refreshed, natural, and more youthful—exactly what I was hoping for.I highly recommend Dr. Douglas Sidle and his team to anyone considering eyelid surgery. Their skill, professionalism, and compassionate care truly set them apart. Thank you for giving me such a wonderful experience and result!

My facelift was terrific!
I am 76 years old. I had a turkey neck, marionette lines, deep nasal labial folds, bags under my eyes, and earlobes that drooped.. Dr. Sidle did a face lift on me that covered all those areas and made me look at least 20 years younger. I know medicine is an art as well as a science, and that you have to be in the hands of a good artist to expect great outcomes. That is who Dr. SIdle is. It is now 5-weeks post procedure, and I am thrilled with the results already. I highly recommend this physician to anyone considering a face lift.He also has a Certified Physicians Assistant, Erin Hoke, who is very efficient. She sent me a detailed email reviewing the surgery in advance and what to expect in the first days and weeks after the procedure. She was the one whom I saw twice for suture removal and she spent considerable time with me answering all questions and giving advice on how to best care for my skin. Dr. SIdle also saw me after surgery and was pleased with the results, as am I.

Horrible
Terrible surgeon, horrific results. I wish I read these reviews before I went to him. The level of destruction he has caused can probably be compared to a very bad car accident. If only I knew...

DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR
On Oct 17th, 2024, I went in for a facelift, upper and lower blepharoplasty and a deep chemical peel, $28,000 total. On Jan 28th, 2025, I had an appointment with Premier Dermatology and the doctor informed me that the scarring from the chemical peel is permanent. On the right side of my face the chemical burn extends from the temple all the way down my cheek and neck. There is additional scarring around my hair line, ear and under my chin. Additionally, my right eye is red and very irritated ALL OF THE TIME, never mind the fact that they are no longer symmetrical. Prior to the procedure, Sidel said that he would remove the pocket of fat above my right eye. That didn’t happen. SEE MY GOOGLE REVIEW. I posted photos for EVERYONE TO SEE THE DAMAGE HE CAUSED.

I went in for a consultation that was supposed to be free and I was billed $585.00 a whole 4 months later for my 10 minute consultation. I also did not choose him to do my surgery because I felt like something was just off about him after meeting with him.

Avoid at all costs
If you want to get maimed, mutilated and traumatized, Sidle is a great choice for all of that. I went to Sidle wanting to get a surgery to fix my deviated septum. I was always happy with the front profile of my nose for the most part, but I never really liked the side profile so while I was at it I decided to get a small 1-2mm bump shaved down as well as a minor reduction in the size of the tip. I figured hey, these are some small changes, I'm paying a ton of money for a surgeon at a reputable hospital, and I've seen people get cheap rhinoplasties go from horrid looking noses to beautiful noses so I'm sure nothing bad could happen. I was wrong. Biggest regret of my life.

Dr. Sidle is not someone I would recommend. His integrity & honor are to be questioned. Why? I will explain. I am Veteran. I served as well as I could & was honorably discharged for injuries. My nose had been broken twice, my badly compromised septum interfered with breathing, sleeping, well being etc. The surgeon at the Hines VA did a poor job of correcting the issues. The surgery was invasive, required cartilage relocation, straightening out the septum & inserting a spreader graft. When the job was done my nose was not straight. The spreader graft clicked in my nose, still does, which is uncomfortable, my left nostril gets more stuffy & congested than my right for no apparent reason & my breathing still isn't as good as it might be. The right area on the bridge of my nose has some semi jagged bone irregularities beneath the skin. All of this should have been corrected to a much better degree. So after a year & half of seeing & feeling the inadequacy of my nose I started digging for a "good" surgeon. I came upon a kind spirited Asian doctor who works in the same building/clinic area as Dr. Sidle. He thought Dr. Sidle might be a good surgeon to discuss my concerns & possible surgical corrections with. I appreciated the Asian doctors input. He was wrong! My first visit to Dr. Sidle, which the VA paid his astronomical fee for, seemed reasonable. He said he could make some improvements, perhaps improve the breathing, definitely make the nose straighter, maybe improve the spreader graft problem & generally do a better job. I told him about my displeasure with the Hines VA doctor. He apparently knew a good deal about her because she had done her training at Northwestern. His tone was a bit of a red flag. As a patient, based on my experience, I am allowed to be pleased or displeased with anyone I have encountered in my life. I was displeased with the quality of the VA female surgeons work on my nose. Dr. Sidle, during my first visit, was a bit disgruntled by what I stated about the previous surgeons inadequate procedures on my nose. But you know what? Who cares! I was looking for a competent surgeon who would do a better job. He clearly stated, during this intial visit, that he would he do the surgery & improve on what was done. The appointment was made for the surgery. Unfortunately my mother's fatal cancerous condition, in New York, forced me to cancel the surgery which ended up being put off nearly indefinitely. Fast forward to Friday, October 1,2021 & a new appointment that had been made with Dr.Sidle months earlier. I had been feeling unwell emotionally. I had gotten an injection treatment for PTSD days before which has affected me. I went to the appointment in the afternoon. I signed with a very unhappy female associate seated in one of the cubicles. I was brought into one of the medical rooms by heavyset woman. I waited for Dr.Sidle's long time associate, Erin, to come out. She has always come across as kind & receptive. I appreciated that. She came in, asked me a variety of questions & took new digital images of my nose from various angles. We went back to the original medical room. Erin eventually left & Dr Sidle came in with a younger Asian fellow who was studying and learning. I greeted them warmly. They did the knuckle bump thing. Dr.Sidle made small talk about my hair & attempted an aire of pleasantness which actually read as a bit superficial & scripted. We re-visited the dialogues we had had about the previous surgery. His tune started changing & his defensive bravado started rearing it's head. After telling me previously he could improve on the various inadequacies of the previous procedures, he now started saying he couldn't, it isn't worth it, & started giving me the run around. He began to defend the previous VA surgeon, after telling me he could have done a better job, and started criticizing my present state of energy in the room. I am allowed to feel feelings, be in a deficit & I explained that to him. He went on & on about how a patient is supposed to have a good rapport with the surgeon & all of this other palaver. The truth is a surgeon just needs to simply do the best job possible and a "rapport" does not need to exist at all. I'd rather have an excellent surgeon that says little compared to an overly friendly, mediocre, surgeon who blabs away. Surgeons, especially plastic surgeons, are very well paid! Then he started making excuses about how he probably would not do the surgery for his own brother. I responded by saying probably is not an answer to which he quickly retorted, "I am not going to do it!". I said fine, I will find someone else that might actually do a better, more thorough job. I left. Find the best care you can!

Best surgeon!
I recently underwent a rhinoplasty and submental liposuction with Dr. Sidle and my experience was incredible! Dr. Sidle’s PA, Erin, was so kind and helpful in scheduling my consult with Dr. Sidle. During my consult both Erin and Dr. Sidle answered all the questions I had and were very thorough on what to expect with surgery and postop care. I felt very reassured! Dr. Sidle morphed my images during the appointment so we can decide what changes I’d like to make and the outcome is even better than the images! He did the best job ensuring that my new nose fits my face, my jaw line is more defined and most importantly I still look like myself (but better)! He is very detail oriented. The surgery and postop period went so smooth and I am so grateful. Dr. Sidle checked in on me the day after surgery which was so kind. I 100% recommend Dr. Sidle to anyone in search of a wonderful surgeon and team!

Exceptional Plastic Surgeon - A True Artist!
I recently had the privilege of undergoing eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) under the skilled hands of Dr. Sidle.  From the initial consultation to the final post-operative checkup, my journey with Dr. Sidle has been nothing short of exceptional. Having researched extensively before choosing a plastic surgeon, I was immediately impressed by Dr. Sidle's impressive credentials and glowing reputation.  However, it was our first consultation that solidified my decision to trust him with my procedure.  Dr. Sidle exuded professionalism, genuine care, and an evident passion for his craft.Throughout the entire process, Dr. Sidle and his team ensured I felt comfortable, informed, and empowered to make the best decisions for my desired outcome.  The level of detail and clarity provided during pre-operative discussions was impressive, leaving me with no doubts or anxieties leading up to the surgery. On the day of the procedure, I was met with a tea

Excellent surgeon
After a lengthy Mohs procedure with dermatology, Dr Sidle was assigned to me for closure of my upper lip. I was the last patient of the day (he saw me at 5:15 PM), and he made me feel as if I'd had been the only patient he had all day. Very personable & confident in what he had to do to give me the best result; and, my follow-up a week later to remove the stitches affirmed that. I felt well cared for and respected. Both are rare patient outcomes, it seems, in healthcare these days! I highly recommend this doc.

I had a revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Sidle and I couldn’t be happier that I picked him and his team for my surgery. I had a nose job done elsewhere in Chicago with a very upsetting outcome that affected me mentally, physically, and emotionally. I finally took the steps to get a revision and through my research/reviews I found Dr. Sidle at NorthWestern University to perform my revision rhinoplasty. From the consultation until now (1 month post-op) he and his PA-C Erin have been accessible, attentive, caring, and professional. He has such a hardworking team, Erin is so organized and makes the day of surgery as easy as she can for each patient. She goes above and beyond to address any questions and concerns. At the first consultation, Dr. Sidle used computer imaging to help me visualize my possible results before committing to surgery. After seeing the simulator pictures of what my nose will look like post surgery I knew he was the one to perform my surgery. He not only focuses on the n

My experience with Dr. Sidle & his team for my septoplasty/rhinoplasty surgery was better than I could have imagined. Dr. Sidle is a skilled surgeon, artist and physician. It is rare to come across such a combination in someone with his talent, and it shows in the results and level of care he gives. From consultation to pre-op to post-op appts, I always felt heard, understood and never, ever rushed. He treated me first and foremost with respect and kindness. His assistant Erin was lovely, professional and excellent at patient communication. I am only 10 days post-op and I am beyond thrilled that I'm already breathing and looking so much better than before! This surgery was 20+ years in the making for me. I am filled with gratitude for being lead to this team. Highly, highly recommend.

I am a nurse practitioner, and I have spent my entire past 30 plus professional years working with physicians, especially surgeons. I can honestly say unequivocally, that Dr. Sidle, is one of the most competent, professional, clinically conservative physicians I have ever met. In addition, Dr. Sidle's surgical skills are exceptional. He also has an amazing bedside manner, he is kind, communicative, and spends an extraordinary amount of time with his patients. His clinical team, including his PA, Erin, and the entire care team are kind, caring, and truly amazing too. I highly recommend Dr. Sidle. Words can't express my gratitude to Dr. Sidle for his surgical excellence and compassion for exceptional patient care.

Dr. Sidle and his team was fantastic. Not only did he spend 30 minutes listening to me. But he was honest in trying to help me. and went above and beyond and sending me referrals to the mayo clinic and the Cleveland clinic. Given how complex my issues were for him and his team. Dr Sidle and his PA Erin Hoke Are fantastic! They are extremely thorough, and answered every question in depth. I had nasal reconstructive surgery using a rib graft. He is one of the few surgeons in the area who performs this procedure, and I am very glad I ended up in his office! He is highly skilled and particular. After a nose injury over 20 years ago, and 2 previous surgeries, I was a little bit of a challenge. My breathing is now hugely improved along with the appearance of my nose. I cannot recommend Dr Sidle enough. You will be in great hands!
