Belittled me in front of my AML NP and Residents
The first and only time I saw Dr. Sborov I was being treated inpatient at the (fka) Huntsman Cancer Hospital for life threatening Acute Myeloid Leukemia. As a teaching hospital, there were several new residents and my NP in the room when he belittled me for my anti-anxiety and anti-depressant prescriptions, saying that I did not need them. You can imagine my embarrassment and humiliation at what he said. I was dispirited and told the NP that I never wanted to be seen by him again.AML has a 75-80% mortality rate so nothing to worry about there... At the time I was married with two teenage children, facing a life threatening disease trying my best to stay strong and survive the brutal chemotherapy regiment, again, no stress there....Years later I am a cancer thriver thanks to the (otherwise) amazing medicine and care from my awesome team of providers at Huntsman!

World Class Human, World Class Team
I have been seeing Dr Sborov and his team for two years and I cannot say enough good about my care. Having struggled through three years of chemo and a transplant, I fled Canada and it's horrible care and landed at Huntsman Cancer Institute with this team. Dr Sborov is personable, has a sense of humor, knows at least as much as any other oncologist, will fight for his patients, and listens to us. Patient feedback is genuinely part of his diagnostic criteria, which is the only reason I am alive. Could not get previous oncologist to look past negative blood test enough to listen to the pain I had started feeling 14 months after transplant. Dr Sborov ordered PET scan at my first visit because of my complaint of pain and I lit up light a cancer Christmas tree. It is no exaggeration that I am alive only because of him, and I honestly believe that a billionaire could not get much better care than me - and I am nobody special. Count yourself fortunate if you find yourself his patient.

Dr. Sborov is great. I am so grateful to have a Multiple Myeloma specialist here in Salt Lake City. He takes his time to answer every question I have, and he makes me feel that I can and will outlive the survival rates that are published. He appreciates my sense of humor which makes my appointments a pleasure. I am forever grateful for him and his team. It's hard not to love people who have literally saved your life!
