Dr. Douglas Hong, DMD

This entailed difficult surgery, with potential for a very bad outcome. Dr Hong took time to explain thoroughly, and was clear about what was needed, the procedure, the risks, and the likely recovery time. The full cost was presented up front, and we chose to pay out of pocket for the skill and professionalism we found in him and his staff. I have already recommended Dr Hong to two friends who have not had good experience with their oral surgeon.

Staff are very personable and kind, Dr. Hong is definitely qualified. Would have gone there for wisdom teeth extraction, but the estimate I was given was over $1000 more than another oral surgeon less than 1 mile away (both took my insurance). I was also charged $185 more than my insurance-approved amount for the consultation (which was refunded in a timely manner), even though they were "in-network". Be sure to compare prices before scheduling regardless of what you're told about someone being "in-network"!

Terrible at communicating. No empathy. If that is ok with you, feel free.

You won't find a more thorough, conscientious oral surgeon. I recently had two implants done..Dr. Hong did extensive x-rays to ensure we avoided any nerves, during the procedure took extra precaution to protect nerves in the surgery fold. He consulted and collaborated extensively with my regular dentist about the treatment plan. He discussed with me various treatment plan options and let me know which ones had some inherent risks. He called several times to check on me following the procedure.

GREAT Dr–BAD STAFF. We had an appointment with Dr Hong - set up weeks in advance. 2 days before the surgery, the office staff called to collect the fees in advance of the surgery. I had never heard of such an arrangement of prepaying medical services in advance, nor were we ever notified of this. I called them back the next day. We had insurance, a primary and secondary provider. They refused to consider the secondary insurance and wanted payment for what the primary insurance (out of space)

Thank goodness for Dr. Hong! I was in horrible pain from one of my wisdom teeth and was super scared to go to the dentist. I was referred to Dr. Hong's office by my regular dentist because she knew they would take care of me. Everyone there was so accommodating. I got in right away for a consultation and was scheduled the very next day for the surgery under sedation. The surgery was over in what seemed like five minutes and I had little to no pain at all. Highly recommended!
