This office is a total joke! At 1st he was very nice to both of us- and still is to my husband. The last 3 times I’ve been there, he’s been a VERY RUDE , ARROGANT, DISRESPECTFUL, CONDESCENDING JERK!!! It’s impossible to get prescriptions refilled. They seldom answer the phone and they certainly don’t return calls. He said he knows it’s happening way too often and it will get better. But here we are a year later and it’s worse! Now you have to go through the pharmacy and they send it to the office. I reminded him we have tried it this way before and it hadn’t worked. He said the nurses don’t have time to deal with it and that’s the way they are doing it now. And then he told me again he is working 70 hours a week. Now they don’t call you with test results. You have to look at your WVU chart on line- he explained this frees up some of the nurses time. So we have decided to free up an hour a year for them. We found another Doctor. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! At first he was very nice to both of us- and still is to my husband. The last 3 times I’ve been there, he’s been a VERY RUDE, ARROGANT, DISRESPECTFUL, CONDESCENDING, JERK!!! It’s impossible to get prescriptions refilled by calling the office. They seldom answer the phone and they certainly don’t return calls. He said he knows that it’s happening way too often and it will get better. But here we are a year later and it’s WORSE!!! Now you have to go through the pharmacy to get prescriptions refilled ( even though this hasn’t worked in the past)- because he said his office doesn’t have time to deal with it. The nurses don’t have time to call with test results. You have to look online at your WVU chart. He said he has been working 70 hours a week. So we have decided to free up about 30 minutes a year for him- WE FOUND A DIFFERENT DOCTOR. I would give this Dr. and his office 0 stars if I could!

Dr Brooks as been my doctor for a couple years and here is my experience. I am a 32 year military man and was looking for a doctor to get my body straight after abusing it for so many years. After 6 months I had a VA appointment and the doctor said to me, “Who is your PCP? Because I have never seen a 50 year old with blood work so perfect”. He listened to me and we agreed on what I needed to do to fix my body. I had anxiety, high blood pressure, depression, cholesterol was in bad shape, pain everywhere. Dr Brooks is worth an initial visit.

I have been this doctor for bout 2 years now, and he has tried to pawn me off on his nurse more tha once- and I flat out refused. He said I need a woman to take my woman problems to. I told him I wanted a DOCTOR, not some nurse.

I’ve been a patient of his for a couple years now and could not ask for a more competent and efficient physician to take care of me. I have several chronic illnesses that he ha shaken the time to explain on a level I can understand easily and give me a comprehensive treatment plan. His nursing staff always goes above and beyond anytime I have a question or a refill request. It was difficult to find a physician that would take me on since I have several issues, but I am so glad he came back to Parkersburg.

I was a patient under this dress for 2 ½ years, only seen him 2 times. He was very rude and arrogant. Any man can walk in and get whatever they want but a female stands no chance of receiving respect from this dr. My advice, find one that isn't a rude doctor.

I will say... I had not had a PCP in a while and when I had my initial appointment he listened right away and was helpful.... Then came the next appointment where I waited at least 10 mins to see him after my appointment time but he was still pretty helpful. And here we are after my most recent issues where I send a message through my chart seeking medical advise and was advised by a nurse that o had to schedule an appointment. So I did and the roads were ICY causing me to be about 5 or 6 mins late. I tried calling multiple times on my way and left a message. Yet, when I got there I was asked to reschedule with not a single person in the waiting room?! I could understand 10 min late and no good excuse. But this is unbelievably bad office professionalism and no empathy at all.

Dr Brooks is a highly competent physician with one major issue - when he leaves for vacation, he does not have a back up physician or PA that can call in prescriptions. In my case, I had a very serious infection (I’m elderly) that urgently needed to be treated with antibiotics. A home health nurse did the tests at home and had a lab run the results. All I needed was a reliable primary physician to call in a prescription for antibiotics and it would have been done. Instead because Dr Brooks has no back up and the receptionist turns away all patient callers, I spent 6 hours at a clinic to see a doc and get the script. UNBELIEVABLY BAD PRACTICE.

Doctor doesn't even see patients or fill written prescriptions from other hospitals. Had a family member that went to a hospital in Columbus Ohio because he couldn't walk. The hospital in Columbus wrote him prescriptions for his pain and referred him to a specialist back in WV because the insurance he had wouldn't cover specialists in Ohio. After returning to Dr. Brooks, he didn't even see my family member, told him there was nothing wrong with him, and didn't fill any of his prescriptions.

I have been a patient of Dr Brooks since he opened a practice here in Parkersburg, and I can say I am healthier because of his care. I recommended just about all of my friends to him. He is very knowledgeable and got me on track by routinely advising me on my diet and exercise routine that help me shed some pounds and maintain a healthy weight for disease prevention. His staff is super friendly and are always there needed. 10 Stars from me.

Absolute best physician I’ve ever seen! A doctor who cares about the patient and getting to know their heath not just their chart!?! I wasn’t sure that was possible till I started seeing Dr.Brooks! I have recommended my adult children to see him as well! If he’s great enough for my children he’s great enough for you!

My dad became a patient of doctor Brooks recently and we were really impressed with his care and bedside manner. My dad was an out of pocket patient and he didn’t do a bunch of unnecessary testing or labs just because. My dad is not a fan of doctors overall and is stubborn when it comes to going and he felt completely comfortable and said how glad he was he saw him. He has since acquired medical coverage and is going to go back to continue to see Dr Brooks for his needs.
