amazing!! He was very good at listening. He took lots of time to explain my options and the where, when and how's of it all. I am very pleased with him and his staff!! I have seen him in both of his locations.

Can't rate a doctor that you can't get an appointment with! Incompetence.

I was referred to this doctor after a motor vehicle accident. His answer to my injuries and subsequent MRI readings were that my age was causing this pain and the readings. Most people with these injuries have them all their life with no pain and still have a good quality of life. He would not believe me that I never had these injuries before the accident nor the pain. He had a holier than thou attitude . When my husband questioned him about the herniated discs and flattened spine he just told him I was fine. I’m not fine. I have been at a level 8 pain since the accident. Needless to say I went for a second opinion and I was happy with the time and answers along with plan that specialist gave me. Find a different doctor is the advice I would give to anyone looking for a spine specialist.

I was referred to dr beard and was told he was an amazing surgeon. I was excited to finally have a concrete solution to my many years of pain. Unfortunately when I met with dr beard all he did was talk badly about my referring doctor and treat me with little respect. Come to find out he had been looking at the wrong mri that was taken years ago vs the one I had a month ago. When trying to make an appt to see him again so he could look at the more recent mri I was met with rude office personnel who belittled me as if it was my fault. They didn’t even have the decency to call me back to make the appt. I don’t know why I even tried considering our first meeting was so bad. I would never recommend this doctor as I have never felt so disrespected by him and his staff. Very disappointing. From reading other reviews, apparently I wasn’t the only one he treated this way which to me are huge red flags.

The first conversation we had said most people want to get surgery right away, the insurance companies may not pay for this. Implying I couldn’t pay. He belittled the radiologists implying their incompetency and that he is better at reading MRI results and catches their mistakes. Never asked me if I had any questions about anything he had talked about. Was quick to assess I was not a candidate for surgery at this point and that my options were live with it, injections or surgery down the road.

Dr. Douglas Beards' office staff was great help when filling out all of my employers needed paperwork to submit to my short term disability insurance . They sent me the needed paperwork before my scheduled procedure so it was preregistered which made the day of surgery a breeze. Dr. Beard's nurses at the surgery center were professional as well and so were the overnight nurses. Dr Beard did a great job on artificial disc replacement. No more pains in the arms or tingling in fingers.

I saw Dr. Beard for a second opinion and he was very good at explaining what was wrong and what he felt would be the best treatment for me. I thought that he was such a great doctor that I decided to have my care with him. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family members.

I highly recommend Dr. Douglas Beard to anyone in need of a neck or back surgeon. He's calculated, realistic and chooses the best option for you - even if it means not performing surgery. He has his patient's best interests at heart and his reputation is proof.

Dr. Beard is a caring and empathetic doctor. I love the fact that he does an outreach clinic in Western Nebraska. This saves me from having to travel 6+ hours in a day to see him as we don't have a brain and spine specialist in western Nebraska. I would have to say Dr. Beard is one of the most professional and wonderful doctors in my experience that I have seen in my lifetime.

Dr. Beard was very rude to the point of abusive, he used swear words, which made me very uncomfortable. Did not explain my MRI AND XRAYS very well to me and when asked by a friend I had brought with me to help me with questions all he could say, was where do you work like that does not pertain at all to my condition of having severe neck pain. The other thing was all he could do is put down the North Platte Dr's that referred me to him. Told me to get a different Dr!!! What a wasted trip.
