Continued Problems With Communication and Staff
I saw Dr. Ball after my thyroidectomy for my thyroid cancer. He was very blunt, dismissive, and scoffed when I needed to bring my (very well behaved) children to a follow-up appointment. His scheduler, LaJoy, was consistently rude and more than once I was sent for labs and lab orders had never been sent to the lab, which was a complete waste of my time. MyChart messages would go unanswered and I ended up switching to a new provider.

Excellent visit. I trust Dr. Ball and Johns Hopkins to monitor my thyroid test results. I had my thyroid removed over 20 years ago and Dr. Ladenson and Dr. Ball have successfully managed my hormone levels.

I definitely would not recommend wasting time for a second opinion through Dr. Ball. He did not take the time to review my medical records carefully prior to the appointment and then to add injury to insult, I had to fight with Johns Hopkins to have them correct information that was hastily entered incorrectly into my medical record because he wasn't paying attention the day of the appointment. It is not an understatement to say that they were like keystone cops. Complete disappointment.

Dismissed and didn't answer my question, answered a phone call while he was examining me. MOST FRUSTRATING, never got back to me about my alarming test results, never returned messages from my chart, still shows they haven't even been read, never returned my voice mails or messages left with staff and never called my RX into the pharmacy, Literally could not get a hold of him or a nurse or anyone in the office to help prescribe my RX.

I have seen Dr. Ball for 11 years after locally being advised with the wrong course of treatment. Dr. Ball made sure I had the appropriate scans and referred me to a surgeon who got me the best possible outcome with my cancer. He continues to follow up treat me with the upmost respect.

I went to Dr. Ball with a very complicated thyroid disorder history and was consistently treated as if I were a run of the mill patient who required no special consideration. I doubt that he recalled my history or checked my records when making decisions about my treatment in addition to taking a ridiculous amount of time to get back to me with blood test results or about questions. I had to question his judgement on everything and would have to email at least twice to get a response from him.
