Dr. Ambler is great!
Dr. Ambler took time with my father, answered all our questions and explained the plan going forward. He is very kind and caring.

Great internal medicine doc
I have seen Dr. Ambler for more than 20 years. He has always listened very well to me and provided alternate options for treatment knowing my dislike for drugs as the go-to treatment for any of my issues with health. He spends more than two minutes with his patients (probably 10-20 min with me) which is unusual nowadays. He is very caring and kind. During and since C0VID it seems many practices and doctors cut back on seeing patients in person or were too booked to see many in person. This was very frustrating to me and many patients. Dr Ambler’s preference would likely be to see all his patients but the healthcare organization Northwestern Medicine makes it difficult for their providers and their patients with all of their restrictions. I don’t blame the well-meaning docs for the health organization shortcomings… for a time at least. Sometimes I am asked to see the NP or the PA in the practice. I like the PA Gary Geurts in the practice a lot but not the other PA or NP.

The practice is terrible. Almost impossible to get into to see your dr unless you are two months out. For sick visits, stuck with whoever is available and usually it is not one of the good doctors. Bad experience where I had an appt, showed up and was told it was four hours earlier, even though they confirmed for time I showed up at - had to wait an additional two days - very poor service.
