My experience with Dr. Thaggard was a horrific one. Get another doctor is my advice. My partner of 24+ years went to the hospital for a run-down feeling. Thinking dehydration. He was admitted about 6am. At 9am I was told he had double pneumonia. I thought that must be wrong because he had a 95% oxygen blood level. Trying to reach my friend that night I was connected with the doctor who told me not to come to the hospital that he was sleeping. I told him I would be there in the morning. By 9am the next morning the Dr. had put him in ICU and put him on a ventilator. I was misinformed about his condition and his medications. Don was put on a ventilator, unconscious, and I was not notified. His dropping blood pressure and breathing was a result of maximum amounts of ativan keeping him knocked out and not allowing me to make competent decisions from misinformation by the doctor. Don died in only 29 hours after he had walked into the hospital. Medical record showed no pneumonia.

Dr. Thaggard took care of my mother from April 8 - April 14. After repeated calls to the hospital requesting information, none was provided. Dr. Thaggard did not reach out to the family to inform us of changes with our mother. I reached out to the patient advocate and clinical director of the unit where she was located. NO information was provided to the family as we were trying to make plans for her care after discharge. Since no visitors are allowed, we did not see our mother during the entire hospital visit. We were relying on communication from the doctor. VERY DISAPPOINTED with the lack of empathy.

Dr. Thaggard is an outstanding physician! He is conscientious, detailed, and concerned about the patients. He brought me ice chips instead of having me wait for a nurse or nurse's assistant to do so. I found Dr. Thaggard to be very personable and to relate well to patients and staff at all times. I highly recommend him!!
