Dr. Dori Mortimer, MD

I have never had a physician be so rude and condescending. She was an hour and a half late to our first appointment, so late that they rescheduled us without even seeing her, then the rescheduled appointment week later, she was TWO hours late. When she finally came in, she was unapologetic and told me quote 'if you do not want to wait then you shouldn't book your appointments during flu season' Her own nurses told me in private that she is ALWAYS late, and patients are usually very upset with her. DO NOT take your child to her.

Great doctor!! Our daughter has some challenges and Dr. Mortimer has been caring the whole way. Easy to communicate with through Rady MyChart. The communication between her and Rady’s doctors and labs at Children’s is outstanding. Highly recommend Dr. Mortimer either way but especially if your child ever goes to Rady Children’s Hospital.

After going in for a routine check up, she accused my husband and I of abusing our daughter because she had a TINY bruise on her knee from crawling. I caution anyone from seeing this doctor as she has horrible judgement and didn’t seem to care that she put my family through absolute torture, including having to deal with CPS (who found the accusation laughable after meeting us). We had to put our baby through numerous tests…one being an entire body x ray where they strapped and held her down while she was screaming, not to mention the harm done from that. Then there was the poking and prodding of her little arm with a needle until I couldn’t handle the screaming anymore. I understand doctors need to err on the side of caution, but this was completely unwarranted and it is clear that Dr. Mortimer cannot read a situation at all and does not care about the repercussions of her actions. This is not where anyone should be taking life’s most precious gift.

First of all, Dr. Mortimer was 1.5 hr late. She didn't apologize. We saw Dr. Mortimer for an acute symptom that became chronic. I shared my concerns & thoughts to Dr. Mortimer. She ignored what I said & was disrespectful. I know my child best. Anyway, she misdiagnosised my child. I don't know how she got the diagnosis because my child wasn't expereicning any of the symptoms for th diagnosis Dr. Mortimer said my child had. Needless to say, she was wrong, & I was right, tho took a 2nd visit.
