Dr. V is the best. He is always straight forward with a diagnosis and treatment options. I highly recommend First Choice Medical Group for any and all orthopedic needs. I have been a patient there for 4 years and don't mind driving 30+ miles to see them.

I've been seeing Dr. V for over 6 years and I cannot see myself using another ortho specialist. I moved from Melbourne to Cape Coral and drive 3.5 hours for my visits...that's how much I trust him. He's one of the most caring doctors I've ever been to and he definitely knows his "stuff".

Dr. V's staff, specifically his assistant, is rude, insulting, and unprofessional. There is a severe lack of communication. The treatment plan was not discussed. We had no idea a series of shots would be needed. Dr. V. couldn't wait a few extra minutes for anesthesia to work after I waited, for the second time, for over an hour to be seen. The process was extremely painful. The Dr didn't seem to care I was in pain during the procedure. The assistant rarely returns phone calls. They appear to be understaffed and overbook appointments. First time we waited 2+ hours, second time 2+ hours and third time, before walking out because I wanted to speak to the Dr. first before getting another excruciatingly painful shot in my back, 1.5 hrs. I was told "this is not a talking appointment" and given an appointment to "talk" in three weeks. Assistant said she was "getting aggravated" at me for asking to speak with the Dr., in front of the overstuffed, cramped waiting room full of patients.

Dr V was very attentive. He took time to talk to me. I’m a big baby when it comes to pain. He was very gentle during the procedure. And I so appreciate him. He’s been a God send for me.

This doctor was a "no show" yesterday. The appt was made about 4 wks ago after I was injured & an MRI revealed the reason for the pain so I was referred to him. It was the soonest they could fit me in they said, & I was asked to arrive at 9:15 for a 9:30 appt. I was taken to an exam room (shortly after 10) across from his office, where I could see he was working. He even went to get coffee after being told I was his next patient by the nurse. By 10:50 I left to get back to work. Still in pain.

Best Doctor I have encountered in the past 10 years that I have been dealing with back pain.

I was having a problem with bursitis in my left hip. A friend of mine suggested that I see Dr Vliegenthhart a doctor who had helped her with a back problem. Trusting that this doctor was experienced with bursitis problems, I made an appointment and he suggested that I get a cortisone cocktail shot for my hip. Since the shot I have had leg pains. Wondering if it were a side effect, I called several times and no one ever responded. I am very disappointed and still in pain.

In 1987 I had a horrible compound fracture of my elbow, wrist and also had the infection that causes gangrene Dr.Vliegenhart tried to save my arm when no other doctor would have and I am now 37yo and have absolutely no problems with my wrist hand elbow or shoulder. I have been looking for him for years to thank him and let him know how great my arm is still doing. I would recommend him to anyone. He has a wonderful bedside manner and is an amazing surgeon.
