Front Desk training in compassion & scheduling
My 95 yr old mother, had part of her lung removed 2 years ago, finds Dr. McAlpine to be a fine DR. But,his office staff & nurse are disappointing at Millennium Physician Group. They lack empathy, common sense & have a poor attitude towards patients, is this leadership's position? Issue, my mother made an appt for Nov. 15th but rec'd a call Nov. 11th that she was a NO SHOW on the 11th & her app't would now be Dec 2nd! She explained the app't card given to her read Nov. 15th, the appt hadn't even happened yet. They said they had no appt for the 15th. She complied, went to the Dec 2nd appt, left an hour early to be on time (she's a fanatic about being early), however very bad traffic, made her a few minutes late. Respectfully she called to say she was in traffic, would be 10 minutes late.they said NO SHOW, come Feb 6. This is egregious, someone in management at Millennium Physician Group needs to step up their game & train their front desk. Terrible customer care.

Although I have always likes and appreciated Dr McAlpine being my pulmonary doctor, today was the final straw. On only one occasion when I had an appointment did I get in to see him in less than one hours. Today I sat in the waiting room from 10:55 to 11:55 when I got up to stretch my legs. The lady at the desk asked if I was waiting for someone. I said, yes the doctor. She was the same lady who took my temp slip from the front desk and she said I was signed in and go sit down which I did. When I talked to her one hour later, first she couldn't find me in the system but when she did she said someone had entered me as a NO SHOW. I weigh a sufficent amount that I couldn't be lost in the crowd. Then she proceeded to tell me the doctor was leaving because he had an important meeting. I did too. My granddaughterand 8 month old great grandson from Colorado were visiting and I had to tell her I couldn't visit because I had a doctor's appointment. I will no longer be a patient of Dr McAlpine.

I’m a friend/care giver for a patient of Dr McAlpine. She has faith in him, I’m not so sure. He is nice enough but his staff, especially the women in the lobby and his assistant have horrible attitudes and very rude! John who is also in the reception area seems to be the only one working and happy to help anyone! He’s pleasant and kind. The other receptionist is on personal calls every time I’ve been to this office. His nurse/assistant is nasty and you can tell she’s not happy with her job and looks like she rather be eating a cheeseburger! I’m sorry but I’m looking into another doctor from Lee Hospital. This office in Cape Coral needs an office manager who will take charge of the situation! Check out their track record with the BBB, it’s not pretty. I was also told that Dr McAlpine does not speak to his patients via a return call. In order to speak to him you must make an appt. That is insane! His nurse refused to ask him to return a call to a patient in end stages of lung disease!

I wish we could get an appointment. A week ago my husband had a PET scan that revealed almost a 2 inch mass in his lung. We were referred to Dr. McAlpine at that time to see if he can do a biopsy. If not then we need to move on to a thoracic surgeon to do it. We were told it hasn't spread yet but likely will. Time is against us. Our family Dr. did the referral as STAT yet a week later we have heard nothing from Dr. McAlpine's office. If he's so busy he can't accommodate the load then he shouldn't be accepting new patients. It could cost my husband his life. Today my husband in desperation finally called to try to get an appointment and was sent to VM. He left a message and we still didn't hear anything back. Other Dr.'s have said he's a good Dr. But if you can't get in to see him or even get a call back, he's no good to me. I hope he does call back soon otherwise I think we are going to have to start over and try to find someone else.

Plan on spending half a day for an appointment. Wait times are ridiculous. Don’t expect to ever talk to a nurse or pa on the phone either.

He is a great doctor very smart and listens to his patients. Didn't give him a five star because of the appointment wait times can be excessive. He does hospital rounds and sometimes gets delayed. I had to wait to see him over an hour one time and most times there is a 30 to 45 min wait. Just plan on the extra time.

Went to office approx 5 months ago. Previously, I was trying to get new script for my machine. Resmed sent me a script to have him sign, to no avail. They couldn't reach him and obviously script never taken care of. Went to office visit and he was to give me a new script for my machine. Never received. Obviously, looking for new dr.
