I feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Mackenzie. I went to him for a second opinion as the previous Ortho was advising no other solution for my back than surgery. I had some bulging discs on L4/5 which had been excruciatingly painful. He referred to pain mgmt w PT . I did very well with this.... no pain. I’m continuing with exercise plan . Dr . MacKenzie is very cautious without pushing to surgery ascend all be all. He advised I do not need the invasive surgery as recommended by the other Ortho. I may eventually need a less invasive but he encouraged me to maintain with the correct exercise strengthening plan. The office staff is very sweet and kind. I’d definitely recommend.

I definitely would recommend Dr Mackenzie to family and friends. He’s very professional and cares about you. Dr Mackenzie goes above and beyond to get you feeling better. I can’t say enough about his staff too. They are very friendly and care about you.. I was referred by a good friend to Dr Mackenzie and his staff. I can’t say enough how happy I am that I found a great doctor who really cares to get you better & get you back to your normal life and free of pain.

Dr. MacKenzie is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He made me feel confident in his recommendations for why I have been seeing him, which is buldging discs in my neck & lower back. I would highly recommend him.

I was very impressed with Dr. Mackenzie, his office and staff. After having a horrible pain in my neck for over a week, Dr. Mackenzie knew exactly what was wrong. He did not do a bunch of tests or take a bunch of x-rays to drive up the cost. He provided a prescription to alleviate the problem and I am extremely happy. He is very professional but is down to earth and friendly. If I have further issues, I will definitely be back to see him.

Every time I visit this Doctors office they were very professional, Dr. Mackenzie cares about his patients and shows the up most respect for them and there feelings. Excellent at his job. He will do everything to avoid surgery first and follow up with you.

I have been treated by Dr Mackenzie for over 2 years and he and his staff have been absolutely amazing and professional. I was misdiagnosed by several other physicians had an unnecessary surgery that Dr. Mackenzie has been trying to rectify. Have had two back surgeries by Dr Mackenzie that have been very successful and I am at about 90% pain-free I look forward to overcoming the next 10%. His staff nurses as well as Dr. Mac himself are absolutely amazing and a God Send!!! I drive over an hour and a half to see Dr. Mackenzie I would not do that if he were not an excellent physician. Dr. MacKenzie performed L3/L4 disk replacement, fusion and connection to previous L4/L5/S1 fusion, including clean out of scar tissue and removal of hardware at L4/L5 Using a minimal invasive approach, reducing trauma to muscles at L3/L4/L5, the complex procedure was a success. After a week, I was walking 1/4 mile daily, and now after 6 weeks, I am walking 2.5 miles. Dr. MacKenzie is the most compassionate, caring, and thorough back doctor that I know. With his background as a medical professional and engineer, he focuses on the best solutions for the individual patient. If you want a doctor who will do the job right and treat you with kindness and dignity, if you want someone who takes time to answer questions and explain what is happening each step in the process from diagnosis, treatment, and healing, then Dr. Donald MacKenzie is a surgeon with whom you will be well pleased. His staff is great.

I have lived with back pain for over 15 years. After multiple doctors, tests, all with no improvement, I was referred to Dr. Mackenzie. From the first visit to my recovery appointments, he was engaged, hands-on, informative, caring and an excellent surgeon. I am now pain-free and I would highly recommend Dr. Mackenzie to anyone seeking an educated, compassionate surgeon and team. His entire staff goes beyond professionalism, they treat you like family. They have rekindled my faith in healthcare.

Terrible, went several times to see him and always misdiagnosed the problem, finally decided to find another doctor. Recommends a procedure and the diagnosis was wrong! The staff and nurse are the most ugliest, rude witches you can imagine. Terrible, stay away.

His plans of care are thorough & conservative, always doing what's best for the patient. His mannerisms are kindness & gentleness which puts his patients at ease. I am so thankful that I found Dr. Donald MacKenzie. His specialty gave me my life back. I just had my 2nd Back Surgery on 3/15/2016, and I'm already back to normal. Both times I have required surgery Dr. Mackenzie has diagnosed my problem prior to all testing being done! His skill is beyond compare, is topped off by excellent bedside manner and a delightful personality. The outcome of both surgeries far exceeded my expectations. I am pain free with no limitations on my activities. I would not hesitate to send anyone for his care, not something often heard when dealing with the spine. My biggest hope is that he doesn't retire before I leave this world!
