Run, don't walk, away!
I strongly urge you to seek care from a different provider. After multiple visits I was most recently made to wait for a very long time (almost an hour) for a then rushed, 7 minute long visit where I left feeling hopeless and defeated about options to manage my medical issue which is impacting my overall quality of life. My original test results that were the cause of my original referral to neurology were never thoroughly reviewed - even when I presented questions about the results - and now after seeking care with another provider it's crystal clear to me that Dr. Golen never actually reviewed or read my initial test results. He also doesn't listen or appear to read his own care notes about you or your condition. It's all pretty disheartening. Save yourself time - and your health - and find another provider who is thorough and isn't checked out.

Barely 10 minutes, No Help, Life Disrupted
I waited weeks for this neurology appointment, expecting a thorough evaluation and a real plan to help me recover and move forward. Instead, the doctor spent barely three minutes with me, did a couple of basic checkups, and immediately told me I couldn’t drive for months. He didn’t discuss any real options, didn’t suggest any way to get back to work or life sooner, and just told me to come back in six months for another test—which is the earliest available appointment. This decision completely changes my life, yet he gave it zero real discussion or care. There was no guidance, no plan, and no effort to help me navigate what to do next. I was left feeling ignored, dismissed, and stranded with no solutions. If you need a neurologist who will actually take time to help you, I’d look elsewhere.

Insensitive
This doctor has poor bedside manner and is insensitive, rude, and does not listen to the patient. I wish I never had an appointment with him.

Disrespectful and Disappointing
It was a terrible experience starting with the scheduling process. I waited months and months to have an appointment canceled within the same morning. Additionally, when I did see the doctor, he was rude, unhelpful, and did not even want to discuss my illness. It was a waste of time and this office is a staff full of disrespectful amateurs.

Don’t bother!
Arrived two minutes late to my new patient apptmt in a SNOW storm! — and he would not see me. Two minutes! I had already checked in online even. Does not seems like he actually cares about the patient. Receptionist rude. Find someone who cares.

Dr Golen point blank refused to look at me or answer a direct question. There is also misinformation in the visit summary. He wanted to hear ‘only about the pertinent symptoms’. ALL the symptoms were pertinent!!! There seemed to be a total lack of bedside concern or empathy. I don’t want to return.

Absolutely awful. Prescribed my mother so much of a medication that the hospital accused her of trying to end her life. She was taking less than prescribed. Told me my issue was "all in my head" in an extremely condescending manner. He even laughed at me. He was technically correct, but never looked at my records. Too much fluid on my brain. His treatment of me caused me to stop seeking help for the issue, which made it so much worse.

He was so nice listened to all my concerns his exam was very through. The staff was very nice and attentive. I feel that lady maybe Was'nt having a good day I give this Dr a thumbs up Great!!

The receptionist at this office is INCREDIBLY rude!! She also lies (told me she faxed in my seizure Med rx and when I went to the pharmacy the next day, she finally sent it upon pharmacist request). There isn't a nurse to triage patients calls and due to the rude behavior of the receptionist as well as lack of medical knowledge, it truly hurts this practice.
