Dr Deraska was my Endocrinologist for a few years and helped me so much. He was awesome. He has since left this practice and I was devastated when I heard! He was a “whole patient” physician, and I never missed one appointment with him because I felt he cared and would help me with any issue I had. He was a true health care provider to me and I will miss him. He’s everything a physician should be these days, but probably can’t be: due to bureaucracy.

I see Dr. Deraska for Hashimoto’s and, like others, am extremely happy. He treats my symptoms (not just my labs), and is very courteous. He tends to have longer wait times simply because he does a thorough job with each patient. I tend to prefer first thing in the morning or right after lunch appointments, and I am rarely kept waiting. I appreciate Dr. Deraska very much!!

Dr. Deraska will take the time to answer all of your questions. We have discussed at length 3 different treatment options regarding my osteoporosis. I never feel rushed when I have my appointment. He has a terrific demeanor towards his patients and you know he truly wants to help you.

Dr. Deraska gets 5 stars (six, if I could) but i have to knock one off for his staff and that no matter what, you'll be waiting at least a half hour beyond your appointed time. He'll even tell you that and/or apologize on behalf of the front desk, which is a stand up professional move. In short, he's a doctor's doctor.

I see Dr. Deraska for Hashimoto’s. Such care & attention to detail!! Well worth any wait. He treats symptoms, not just TSH. MUCH more open-minded than most Western medicine doctors. Answered ALL my questions. Promotes eliminating gluten & open to prescribing T3 (synthetic & NDT). Also looks at B12. Does not prescribe LDN but happy to monitor you if taking. Takes CIGNA. Was booked 2-3 months out but with daily calls I got an appt quick. He is a major player in my journey back to optimal health!

Dr. Deraska is exactly what has been missing in my experience with Hashimoto's disease. He's thorough in explaining my condition and what needs to be done to treat the disease. I've never had a doctor listen as intently and ask pertinent questions like Dr. Deraska does. He is truly a partner in my health care and treatment. I've seen negative comments about the wait upon arrival to the office,b t it's an acceptable trade off to get the personalized service I enjoy.

Kind, knowledgeable doctor who gave my dad his full attention when he was there. Good at speaking in plain language, not medical jargon, when asked to do so. He is often quite late for his appointments (once I think he was about 90 minutes late, though his staff did call us to warn us he was running behind), putting notes in his system and calling about test results. I appreciate that when something was urgent, though, he did send out paperwork right away as promised.

Dr. Deraska is extremely thorough in his evaluation and understands his patient's needs when they ask. Not all patients are the same and what may be normal to one may be not for another. I very much appreciated his progressive and forward view on that.

Donald Deraska is an outstanding doctor. Although I have had to wait to see him, it is well worth the wait. He is extremely knowledgable and thorough. He keeps up with current research and always fills me in on any new developments that effect my health. He is a true partner in my healthcare, educating me about my condition so that I can make informed decisions. He is very respectful and compassionate. I never feel rushed and he always answers my questions. I highly recommend him.

He needs to lighten his patient work load. He is too busy to respond to simple patient requests such as calling in a prescription renewal in a timely manner. When I requested that he give me a call a member of his office staff told me that he has patients booked throughout the day so it would be difficult for him to call me. I had to insist that he call me. He did call within 1-2 hours. Was not helpful. Seemed somewhat put out.
