Billed me for service I didn’t receive.
I went to the doctors office to receive my first annual physical through them. My insurance covered it and while I was there, they told me they charge $20 for taking blood work which I gladly paid. A month later I received a $35 bill for a doctors visit and once I inquired, I was told that I was being billed for a regular doctors visit because of me asking if my bloodwork would also include an STD screening. They told me it would not, and would cost an additional fee, so I didn’t do it. It seems that me asking that question allowed them to label this visit as beyond the scope of preventative care. I guess all I can do is be more aware for the next time, and when my doctor asked me questions during my physical, to make sure that it does not get beyond the scope. As mentioned from others, the staff isn’t very helpful for matters like this. I enjoyed the doctors visit but will be going to another doctor because I don’t like being charged for services I didn’t receive.

WONDERFUL DOCTOR, RUDE STAFF
I was a patient of Dr. Maggio for several years and found him to be the best doctor I ever had. He was always available and caring. Excellent doctor! Unfortunately, he has a very rude and unresponsive staff which was the reason I eventually had to change doctors. I don't believe that Dr. Maggio realizes how rude they are and as a result, believes everything they tell him, sometimes influencing his feelings toward his patient.

I have been a patient of Dr. Maggio's for many years, and have always found both him and his staff extremely kind and helpful in every instance. He has a wealth of experience and wisdom which he exhibits in his patient communications and care so rarely found these days. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for that personal connection to their physician to help with difficult medical issues.

Went in for my annual physical and received a bill. This is supposed to be my one free visit of the year. When I inquired, I was informed that it was because the doctor asked me about pre-existing conditions which apparently made the visit no longer covered under "preventative care." So, let me get this right; I go in for a physical, the doctor asks me a question, I answer the question, and now I'm no longer covered? And no one has to tell me about it?? Unbelievable. In addition, I've called the office over and over to try to resolve this. Just as other people have commented on here, they're rude and unprofessional.

Quite possibly THE WORST run office and doctor in this state. Completely absent and removed from the "quality care" aspect for patients. Do you want an appointment?... Good luck getting one when the doctor is only in ONCE a week and just at Noon. But that's not even the worst part of this entire experience. The office staff is the epitome of horrible. Literally cannot be dealt with. Do you need an emergency visit? Do you need an emergency referral to see a specialist because your in agony? Once again, good luck with that when the office staff have a complete lack of empathy for patients, and fail to have a sense of urgency for the people they are meant to help. Get ready for roadblock after roadblock. Get ready for the most terrible experience with a doctor and his staff of your life. Find someone else. Anyone else. Words of wisdom.

I am 79. I grew up in Miami and my dad was an M.D. I met Dr. Maggio since he was in partnership with Dr. Hugh Gilmore, a very fine Cardiologist and good friend of my dad's. When Dr. G. retired, he highly recommended Dr. Maggio, and I saw him regularly for years. He, his office, and his care were the best ever. We left Miami after retirement in 2009, and I miss him. You cannot do better. He is caring, kind, and always very up to date. I can't recommend any doctor I know more enthusiastically than Dr. Maggio.

The staff if rude, unprofessional and uncaring. A form to receive prior authorization for a brand name medication seems to be to complicated and difficult a task for the exceptionally incompetent nurse. They don't care if they have submitted incorrect information to a patient's insurance company resulting in a denial and refuse to resubmit the simple form with the correct information. There is no concern for the patient and it is unimportant to the staff if the patient receives a medication or not. I have never had such an experience with a physician's office in my life. They are supposed to help patients not just bill their insurance.

HORRIBLE. Staff is super rude, I went in once and I’ll never be back. From getting simple results back they never call you and when you call it’s a bother to them. They’re super unprofessional I have no idea how they have any clients period. Save yourself the trouble and find a better doctors office.

I cannot believe all of the good reviews! I ATTEMPTED to see Dr. Maggio based on reviews and after waiting for almost two hours, I was pushed off to his PA. The office staff was incredibly rude during my visit and have continued to be rude during my follow-up calls to get my results. Last time I managed to get someone on the phone, she snapped "oh, you're results are fine." It was routine blood work...there's more to it than "fine." Terrible experience all around.
