This office demands physicals to administer vaccines required to my son’s school. Also, threatened to rite me off if I don’t do a physical every year for him. It’s all about money than healthcare. Very disappointed to learn that they don’t care for my son’s wellbeing.

I have been a patient for several years, like others the patient experience has turned very negative over the past 2 years. Deceptive Office Billing Practices, Holding Prescriptions Hostage until you schedule an appointment, FAILING to return phone calls. They do not honor appointment times - last 3 appointments I was required to wait - either in waiting room or exam room for more than an hour. Most recently I received a CERTIFIED LETTER stating they would remove me from their patient list unless I scheduled a Physical within 30 Days (but had no appointments available). The last straw was today, when I had an appointment - the proceeded to give me a stack of paperwork saying it had "expired." They first form in the stack was New Policy stating that they can run "any blood work" they deem necessary - regardless if insurance will cover - and I am responsible for the cost. Stay away... this practice does not care about you as a patient, only you as a revenue stream.

For over a decade, our family has been extremely happy with the level of care provided by Dr. Kanelos and his practice. They are all friendly, intelligent, and make recommendations that are in our best interests. Dr. Kanelos is unique in the area as he is an independent physician. We value his care beyond measure.

My husband and I have been a patient at this practice for at least 8 years. We always had a long wait during all of our appointments. Well, I wish this was our only problem with them. Last time I went in for my physical they asked me if I wanted to pay my balance and I said sure and asked how much. They told me something over 500 dollars. I was asked them from what and they told me it wasn't mine it was from my husband. My husband was there less than a week prior to my appt and no one told him

Never! Absolutely poor and below standard customer service with his accounting staff - dishonest and not trustworthy. Tread very lightly with your prescribed procedures and ensuing bill. It's outrageous!! Regarding Dr. Kanelos - known him as a Doctor for almost 20 years - easy to work with - knowledgeable - but his staff is not good and he doesn't have the desire or want to change for the better - stay away and beware.

The best family practice doctor I have ever had. Dr. Kanelos is proactive and focuses a lot on helping you improve your overall health to avoid getting sick in the first place. I love that he will try alternative treatments and supplements (if you are interested) rather than just pushing a prescription at you. I highly recommend him and have been his patient for 2 years.

Dr. Kanelos' practice is Carolina Family Healthcare. He is the only doctor there, but he many nurses and physician assistants who see patients as well. Unfortunately, they are not doctors and frequently misdiagnose illnesses, make mistakes and handle things for which they are not properly trained. Make no mistake--Dr. Kanelos' Carolina Family Healthcare practice is only about MONEY, not HEALTH. The front desk/billing staff are rude & aggressive regarding billing and they make many errors.

Have been with Dr. Kanelos for over 15 years and LOVED the doctor/patient interaction when they were located in Weddington. When they moved to upscale Ballantyne the practice became more about making $ on extras (expensive counseling, body sculpting, hormone testing, etc.) than actual healthcare. Office staff went from 3 to 20 and now Dr. Kanelos dropped any insurance that doesn't give him a yearly increase 2%. Really? Most people don't get 2% raises every year. All about $$ not healtcare now
