I am going through a very hard time in my life right now because I just got diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I have always been able to talk to Dr Crook like she was a friend. She helped me when I got diagnosed with heart disease. Dr Crook showed kindness when I was going through a very dark time in my life and was deeply depressed. I have never had a problem getting into see Dr Crook. She smiles a lot. She’s a happy person. I like her a lot. Doctors just don’t call their patients at their home, but I have gotten different calls directly from Dr Crook, that’s impressive to me and makes me feel like she cares.

Dr. Crook was my physician many years ago. I thought a female doctor would be more empathic to other women. She wore a religious pendant and I once asked if a woman came to her with a problem pregnancy (unwanted/unsustainable/dangerous to the mother) if she would offer all available options to her patient. She said that, based on her faith, she would NOT. I struggled with that, because the health of the woman, her patient, should be her priority. A physician should not let her own personal experiences affect the decisions that another woman might make to make to protect her own health and well-being. Also, I WOULD HAVE DIED had I taken Crook's advice. I had rectal bleeding but she did not want to recommend a scope because I did not fit the "profile" of someone with rectal cancer. I left, but my mother (!) finally made me go back and insist. My "wildly aggressive" cancer required surgery, chemo, radiation. I still have residual effects. BUT I'M ALIVE, DESPITE DR. CROOK'S ADVICE.

I have to remind her of my medical history every time I see her (for many years). Wait times are typically 45 minutes from the actual scheduled appointment. I could hear every word she says to the patients in exam rooms next to me. Finally, and the last straw, she saw two patients before me, one on either side, and did not wash her hands from the first to the second then to me.

Dr. Crook is a nice lady but she does not listen to her patients. I've seen her for over 18 years and she still does not know my name. She refers to my chart constantly which is not updated. She has to many patients and to little time.
