Dr.Tishko saved my life
I went into the hospital with a collapsed lung. I also had a heart attack in the process. A lung surgeon came in and told my wife to gather family members together. He didn't think I would survive. A nurse at the hospital told my wife about Dr. Tishko. She contacted him and when he arrived at the hospital he assured her that I would be fine. Dr. Tishko did lung reduction surgery and the follow up treatment. I was back to work 3 months later and back on the street as a police officer in Columbus, Ohio. It has now been 25 years and I feel great. There is no doubt that Dr. Tishko is the greatest lung surgeon in the country and maybe the world. God Bless Dr. Tishko. I can't praise him enough. Before I met Dr. Tishko I had severe COPD and had difficulty breathing. Life has been great for me thanks to Dr. Tishko. I am now 73.

My wife and I cannot recommend Dr Tishko and his team highly enough! He is the epitome of what an expert professional is. He is extremely talented at the VATS procedure he invented. His direct but professional approach and human warmth evokes trust and comfort worthy of the critical relationship between patient and doctor. As soon as we met him, we knew we were in great hands.

Dr. Tishko is probably the only surgeon on Earth left that has human characteristics and uses them. He is warm, he is gentle in his discussions (no matter how difficult they are) and he is kind. I met Dr. Tishko because he was on my insurance plan, I never expected to get the amazing man that I got. How wonderful to have Marcus Welby come back to life. His smile greeted me each and every day I was in Broward Hospital, he dealt with my family as if they were old friends. His knowledge and his wisdom in lung surgery are way ahead of the curve and his work truly shows it. You go to see Dr. Tishko when what keeps you breathing is damaged, he understands the ramifications of what that means and goes above and beyond to fix it. He will stay my physician even though my surgery is completed, because he wants to see my scans when they come in. How amazing is that? Thanks for saving my life Dr. Tishko, and thanks for giving me the peace that you will be there in the future.
