Dr. Deepak Stokes, MD

I have had absolutely the worst experience and the nurse Katherine is absolutely horrible. I had to go to ER for bleeding at 16 weeks pregnant. She supposedly call me the next day to inform me about what’s wrong but never got a call from her. After 7 days I called and she was so rude and disrespectful just like doctor stoke was. I never got the help I needed from him and her. The hospital was very informative then my own doctor. He won’t listen to my concerns and just prescribe me medication that was giving me side effects and made me sick then make me feel better. He cares more about making money of you then help you get better. Worst experience ever. Don’t waste your time here.

If I could leave a zero star review I would. I sat in the waiting room for more than an hour after my appointment time before I was put in a room. I was there for my annual exam. When he finally came in the room he started rapid firing questions that I had already answered online in my check-in, and I had already answered in the six page questionnaire that they required that I fill out. He hadn't looked at my chart at all. He was very cold and disrespectful. He did my exam without telling me what he was doing or what was going on. I was in tears by the time I left.

I went to him for fertility problems. Sadly I was sterile after his surgery.

Went in for my check up. He was very kind and good at talking asking questions during my exam. Absolutely no complaints. He was quick and knew what he was doing. I think complains like he didn’t remember my name or didn’t chat your ear off to give you a bunch of unnecessary information are petty. The man does his job and he’s good at it.The last thing I want is to stay in an exam room five minutes longer in stirrups just so I can have some weird personal information revealed for a comfort level that does not matter.

The doctor didn’t even remember my name. The nurses didn’t tell me I had hpv after two paps. I didn’t find out till I checked the patient portal online. Nobody called me. I also had abnormal cells which could have been cancerous. Nobody told me. I had two ovarian cysts, they told me I had only one. They were gonna open me up for endo and not remove anything just take my pics, waste my money and just give me medicine after. Don’t go here. Read the other horrid reviews

With pelvic pain and a ml th of incontinence I went for an exam. Waited two hours. It feels like a conveyor belt facility. Dr Stokes makes zero personal connection, poked me with clothes on for five minutes, and left after ordering tests a month out. Tonight I discovered I have a serious problem that would easily been found with proper care and a pelvic exam. I wish I knew good care here in Humboldt. This was a terrible experience. Get care elsewhere.

One of the coldest and most uncaring doctors I’ve ever had to deal with

From the officer center staff to the medical assistants to Dr. Stokes, the entire experience is always pleasant and professional. I appreciate having an office like that , where they still believe in patient care, not treating you like a number.

DO NOT GO HERE! I have had 5-6 appts with Dr. Stokes in the past 6 months and have spent a combined total of about 25 minutes with him. He enters the room and says a few things then says "alright, take care of yourself" and that is the end of the appointment. Expect to answer the same questions because he won't remember you at all. I also had to go in person to MAKE an appointment since the receptionists in the ultrasound dept. would not answer the phone for two whole weeks. Waste of time/money!

Dr. Stokes has been my primary gynecologist for over 24 years. He was my primary obstetrician for 2 of my pregnancies and delivered my now 22-year-old son. I think he is wonderful at his job, I appreciate his candor, knowledge, and professionalism. I think very highly of Dr. Stokes and absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a gyn/obyn.

I like Dr. Stokes and his midwife, Ginger, but the office staff is rude and not attentive. I left a message with the medical assistant on a Thursday and my call was not returned until the following Wednesday. They ordered testing for me but did not do the follow-up to submit the referral to my insurance.

Love Dr. Stokes but the office staff is horrible. Often rude, calls are never returned, and they make you feel like it's your job to try to please them, definitely not the other way around. I always dread interacting with them.

I would never recommend this very cold, uncaring, and uncompassionate Dr. to anyone. He would have let me die in his parking lot after his nurse took my staples out too soon and my wound opened walking to my car. Besides the fact that he almost killed me on the operating table. Also kept telling me he didn't think I had cancer. And yet I did!

He did a surgery of mine that went well, but his bedside manner could definitely use some work. He always seems like he's in a rush and acts annoyed by patients. His staff (who had their hands in some private places at the time) second guessed my firm decisions on multiple occasions, and he did nothing about it. Unfortunately, he's one of very few options in Humboldt County.

During my pregnancy, I met with Dr. Stokes a couple of times. He was nice and gave me good advise. The midwifes are really attentive and nice too. My problem is with the office staff. These ladies need to be reminded that they are not working a register at Walmart. You are working in Health Care. Put a smile on your face once in a while. The ladies are condescending and borderline rude the majority of the time. I wholeheartedly hated checking in at this place.

Straight to the point, which I liked.

Dr Stokes did not provide an ultrasound when I was in premature labor ( I and sent me home, my water broke in the grocery store and my daughter did not survive.) I waited for hours in the hospital to deliver her but because Dr Stokes has no back up for his practice nobody came. Dr Stokes did not order any labs for aftercare and missed the fact that I had retained placenta and a low grade infection. Another OBGYN caught the infection and operated to remove the retained placenta.

My wife is Dr. Stokes' patient, and I've been with her on all her visits. I am also a physician. I am very impressed with his competence and his manner. He is thoroughly focused on her health. No, he won't waste time discussing politics, sports, or other irrelevant things, but he doesn't miss anything pertinent. He often runs late, but he's well worth the wait. We are both delighted with his care, and I recommend him without reservation.

He was unresponsive to my feelings and my appointments were less than five min! He forgot important testing I was due for a couple times and didn't remember my name after 3 appointments. He routinely forgot important milestones in my pregnancy, and skipped a pap exam when I had an infection to be re-tested for. I was given a prescription for an anti-biotic that causes birth defects! Luckily I did my own research. in the end I switched to dr nicely down the road, who was awesome!

As a woman dealing with Endometriosis having a good doctor to thoroughly discuss my concerns is very important. I had to have 2 cysts removed from my ovaries a couple of years ago and need to have ultrasounds and anuals regularly. I went to my first appointment with Dr. Stokes and waited an hour before being seen. He was in such a hurry that I didn't get a chance to ask all my questions before being rushed out the door. I would not recommend this office to anyone.
