Has been the most, kind and understanding surgeon I've ever met! She has wonderful bedside manner and answers all my late night or weekend calls! Couldn't be more happy with her, would choose her again for any surgery!

10/15/19 I had a bad experience with Dr. Kontny who made dramatic conclusions with very little investigation. I was seen for a fistula, which she said probably created a hole in my colon and it was leaking into my vagina. By the time I left the office the 1st time she told me 4 things that would probably happen, the last was having a portion of my colon cut out and I would have a colostomy bag. I was also put on a liquid diet for at least 2 weeks (ended up being closer to a month) that consisted of Miralax and Protein shake from GNC. I was able to ask my other Dr. about additional "food" and he gave me a low residue diet to follow. At least I got to eat some food. She didn't agree with that when I told her about it. The good thing was that I ended up having a colonoscopy by a different Dr. and there was no hole in my colon. I don't recommend Dr. Kontny to anyone. Anchorage, Alaska

Dr. Kontny was very informative, warm, easy to understand and best of all... a great surgeon. She removed my gallbladder and the incisions look great, there has been minimal pain, and she was available to answer all of my questions. She also made herself available after I had a reaction to the gas they used and had to go back to the hospital (rare reaction, nothing for most people to worry about). She gave me some awesome pictures from the procedure too!

8/3/2017 I was seen for emergency surgery for a burst appendix by Dr. Kontny. I was so thankful to have such a wonderful surgeon taking care of me. She was so good to keep my husband ( who was really worried) informed of what she was doing before and after the surgery. The surgery went very well and I am home now on the mend. I would go to her again in a heartbeat for any surgery I need. We are glad she has come to Anchorage and hope she does very well here. She was very kind and compassionate.
