Dr. Ulrich performed a special endoscopic sonogram and aspiration biopsy on my husband. He was very kind and thorough! We both felt he was very skilled, knowledgeable and kind.

Horrible Dr., Only Concerned with $$$
I've seen Dr. Ulrich twice, and in all fairness, the first time I saw him, he was much different and did a good job of helping me. However, when I went back for a follow-up visit that I'd waited 3 months for due to his schedule, his demeanor was 100% different. Based on that visit, if I could give him a zero, I would. He entered the exam room literally ranting about how much the prescription he had prescribed at my last visit had cost the insurance company, and kept saying did I think it was fair that they were spending that much money on me. When I sputtered and had no answer for him because I was so dumbfounded that a Dr. would talk to me like that, he asked if I'd tried an over the counter medicine. When I said no, he said 'did I think I was too good to take over the counter medicine.' All of this happened without me even starting to tell him why I was there. I finally had to be the adult and redirect the visit. I won't be coming back.

Poor Communication
It is very difficult to get someone one the phone. Leaving a voicemail rarely results a call back. Who ever is responsible for responding to messages through the patient portal either loathes and detests their job or does not have the reading comprehension skills necessary for the task. Here is an example: Me: I have been taking (new medicine) for 2 weeks and am still experiencing (symptoms) Office: Have you been taking (new medicine)? M: Yes, I have been taking (new medicine) for over 2 weeks. I am also take OTC medicines A, B, & C. O: Try taking OTC medication B at night M: I am already taking OTC medication B in the morning. Are saying I should take an additional dose at night or switch the time I take it? O No response. A prescription was called into my pharmacy but I was not notified.

CARING Dr.
A Caring, Professional Dr. I was given Dr. David Ulrich's name by a Dr. at another hospital. The hospital I had been in, had no pancreatic specialist. I thank God I was given Dr. Ulrich"s name. He is the only Dr. that has been able to give me help. Many years ago I was told if a patient needs to find a new Dr.; they should ask medical employees who know the character & skills of a Dr. I have found this to be true.

Nope! Would leave 0 stars if it was an option. Condescending and rude. Seriously wish I had read these reviews before my husband’s procedure. Will never go to another specialist just because we were referred, will do my homework beforehand. Trust me, steer clear of this one!!

After an encounter with Dr. Ulrich in a Mercy ER, I was left in pain, with no answers to any questions. The staff in his office are confused at best. Calls and messages are not returned. I've called this office no less than 70 times in a 4 day span. It netted me nothing. If you have ANY time at all to do your homework and actually choose your doctor, please run from this one. What has happened to me because of this man is life altering in the worst sort of way.

Dr Ulrich performed a procedure, he was very thorough and explained in detail the procedure. We followed up with him and he was very responsive calling back. We appreciate his responsiveness and last minute scheduling to get us in. I would recommend him to family and friends. Very caring.

I have never had any problem with Dr Ulrichs staff or him. The staff has went above and beyond in making appointments, fixing problems with insurance and answering questions. Dr Ulrich has been very caring, thorough and never rushed thru an appointment. He is my husband, daughter and sisters Dr too. They feel the same way.

Nurses were completely unhelpful on the phone when I was looking for assistance with my diet. I booked then cancelled my appointment with Ulrich given all of these bad reviews and my personal experience with his staff.

He was kind and sympathetic in person and was my doctor for years. However I had severe stomach pain and after many tests I only heard that the results were inconclusive and had to wait a month for a proper explanation. I messaged asking for more of an explanation and what we could do in the meantime before my appointment. He did not respond to my messages or start me on medication for the month I had to wait to get in. His office also frequently makes mistakes and is not good at returning calls

He was conceited and pompous and blew off my wife's stomach ailment as IBS/Stress. She was hospitalized for severe abdominal cramping and headache. After five days hospitalized in pain, we left discharged with no dx. One week later, go to another recommended GI specialist and he immediately diagnosed the problem as SIBO as her methane breath test was 3x the upper limit of normal. Successfully treated btw. Would have saved us ten of thousands in hospital bill stay if the proper dx was made.
