Don't waste your time
He was very condescending to me. I have uncontrollable blood pressure. When I showed him my readings he told me I appear to have dysautonomia, but more than likely serve emotional problems, then he rolls his eyes! Then he tells me I didn't know how to take my blood pressure. I have been a medical assistant and insurance biller for 25 years. I know how to take a bp!!! Then he asked if I have lupus, I said yes, then he asks my husband if I have lupus, he said yes! Then he rolls his eyes again and wants to know who diagnosed me with lupus! I told him Dr. Robert Abresch, Dr. Luis Salayandia, and Dr. Juan Perez! He goes, " well your heart is good, we don't want you passing out, but your heart is okay." Really? Then why are my blood pressure readings so abnormal? 200/130 highest, and 90/60 lowest. I get headaches all the time, pass out when standing or walking, even broke 2 toes from passing out! I'm going elsewhere. This guy doesn't care!!

Worst cardiologist ever! It's all about the $$$. He didn't give me any answers to what my cause for the visit was. He was extremely rude. I asked him how my heart was and he only said we need to run more tests go meet with the lady in the front. Walks out the room. I'm still waiting for my question to be answered. Now I've been billed $200.00 for that visit. I'm extremely upset because he's not worth a dime of my hard earned $. I will never return to this clinic! Then he goes ahead and books me 3 appointments with out even asking me if I am available for any of the dates!! This is not a good doctor what so ever!!!!

My mother is a senior citizen in El Paso. I am a healthcare professional in Houston. When speaking to my Mother about her appointment I learned that Dr. Turbay spoke to my Mother in a disrespectful and unprofessional manner. He actually told her, " No one is holding a gun to your head." When she question a recommended procedure.

Total disregard to my family member' DNR/DNI. He stated he has the right to over ride a DNR/DNI, and to change it to a full code. He changed the paperwork, behind the POA family member. Stated he "has the right, and I can do whatever I want." The family member was on Medicaid/Medicare, and we suspected he saw her as a golden goose. I say this because, whenever she needed follow up appointments in regards to her pacemaker check or when she was hospitalized, he was never available. Go elsewhere

Dr. Turbay and staff are disrespectful and disorganized. They said they were going to call me back and 3 days later I still haven’t received a call. I need refills on my medication. I am very upset, I have a-fib . I want another doctor. He doesn’t talk to me, just examines me and leaves. Not nice to see you or anything or explanation of what is going on with my heart.I don’t recommend him.

I found the office to be warm, comfortable and well run. I was greeted immediately by friendly staff and my wait time was very minimal. I found Dr. Turbay to be very knowledgeable, he listened to my concerns and laid out a treatment plan that was through but easy to understand. He also explained the tests and labs he was sending me for and the reason why he needed them to make a comprehensive treatment plan. I have seen other cardiologists and this by far was my best experience.

Dr. Turbay is truly amazing! While his bedside manner could use work, he is certainly very educated and knows what he is doing. I have seen 2 cardiologists prior and I won't change providers again. I am able to obtain all my diagnostic testing in his office and was even able to obtain a my clearance for surgey in less than 2 months. (Other office asked for at least 3 months) Very happy here.

Hard to give a score for anything, because as far as Dr Turbay, he is an awesome Dr and my Dad loves him. When it comes to his staff, they have no compassion for the patients. My Dad gets treated horrible. They have attempted to call to get prescriptions called in and they have literally hung up on my Dad. Never do they call back when needed and never call to reschedule an appointment because they won't answer!!

I had a really poor service, worst Doctor I have ever seen. I am ex-military and deal with the VA doctors which should tell you about the quality of care. Told him I have a hip injury which means I have issues doing more then walk, let alone run and he scheduled me to do a stress test on a trendmill. Not sure if he understood me but mentioned it several times. Did not look at any documents I brought more then a passing glance. Left feeling depressed and dejected.
