Time has proven his great work.
It was 2004, I was 49 years old. My left knee was a painfull disaster. After 20+ arthroscopic surgery's done by several other surgeon's I went to Dr Overholt. Looked at the x rays, listened to my history, and said he could help. It's a little scary when your as young as I was. Anyway he did my knee replacement surgery. It's 17 years later, and I'm still using the same left knee. I have had 0 issue's with it. I've just had my right hip replaced by Dr. Choy in Lewes, De. I'm now 67. Dr. Choy had x rays taken of my left knee because he was interested in how well my knee held up all these years. Was Dr Overholt's bedside manor touchy feely? Nope, but his work speaks for it self. Thanks Doc. Just wanted to put in my 2 cents...

Do not go to Dr. Overholt for knee surgery
He is a very incompetent knee surgeon based on a knee replacement I had in 2019.

Absolute waste of time and money. My husband has severe chronic back pain and Dr. Overholt acted like he had come in for a hangnail. He didn't take the time to look up his most recent X-rays (he looked at some from 1 year ago, rather than from 2 weeks ago) and instead of digging further into his condition and upholding his oath to "do no harm", he dismissed my husband's concerns. In fact, when pressed to call the other doctor/hospital for current x-rays, he refused. When asked for further help (like physical therapy, at home exercises, SOMETHING), he didn't give any answers and said he'd see us again in 2 weeks. We're definitely not going back and we are going to search for another, competent, somewhat compassionate orthopedic doctor that actually cares about his patients. If you want to waste a copay with a diagnostic you could make yourself, by all means, head on over to Dr. Overholt.

Dr. O has been helping me with the arthritis in my knees for a few years. We are trying to put off knee replacement while keeping my quality of life and mobility up. I think he is great!

Dr. Overholt replaced both of my knees within the last year. I found him to be thorough, warm, compassionate. He explained all options completely and went into great detail as to what would be happening during and after each surgery. His aftercare never felt rushed or uncaring. When it was time to replace my second knee there was never a question of selecting another surgeon.

Dr. Overholt is one of the rudest doctors I have ever met. He has no bedside manners, no personality, no compassion and no smile. I have no clue how he can even be a doctor. He must be very miserable. I will never go back to this office.
