I had to have an emergency appendectomy, and Dr. Melnick and team had me in surgery within 4 hours of arriving at the hospital. He did a great job -- no complications, staff was fantastic, and he stopped in and visited me before he left and first thing in the morning (less than 12 hours after my surgery). I definitely felt like I was in good hands with Dr. Melnick and the rest of the Meriter staff!

In 2012 I was rushed to Meriter in Madison I had ulcerative colitis since I was a kid and I had what you call toxic megacolon which perfed my large intestine spilling stool all in my body which then turned septic, Dr. Melnick removed my entire large intestine part of my small intestine the colon and made a permanent ileostomy I was in the ICU for a month and a half Dr. Melnick is a truly gifted surgeon I owe my life to this man. If you need a surgeon don't hesitate book it.

Took a long time to schedule both initial visit and surgery. Poorly coordinated nursing care "I perform operations at four different hospitals" - maybe that's the problem. Called office with a post-op complication and nurse wanted to dismiss me without being seen, "that usually goes away in a few weeks." Not according to things I had read on the Internet! All in all, I just never felt like I mattered to this doctor.
