Dr.Mayernik, and his staff were fantastic when Hillman gave me a run around about my need for an Iron Infusion. The took care of my needs immediately. When my husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer by another Oncologist with UPMC (who I could barely understand and was unable to get a straight answer), I suggested we see D. Mayernik. He was straight forward about treatment and expectations. I am very pleased with him and his staff in my husbands care.

Dr. M was my mother's doctor. Unfortunately, her cancer was rare and advanced by the time it was found and she went into liver failure a week after being diagnosed. My mother felt very comfortable with him and he was very kind and patient with her. When I had questions, he gave me the information straight, without beating around the bush and he helped me with arrangements for hospice care. He checked in on us at the hospital every day. I am grateful that we had such a compassionate doctor.

This doc has no patience, no heart and no bed-side manners, He looks at you like you are nothing. It is very difficult to get any information from him regarding treatment. I would never recommend him.

Dr Mayernik is the most heartless Dr. of any type I have ever dealt with in my life. I contacted him while my father (his patient for many years) was dieing of terminal cancer - in order to understand the treatment he was getting. Dr Mayernik berated me, scolded me for 'bothering' him - and literally hung up the phone on me. I would never recommend him to anyone for any reason. He shouted at me and my family and was unbelievably uncaring. Easily the worst Dr. I've ever spoken to.
