fatphobic like many drs, but fine if you're skinny
I have seen Dr. Lehman for several years. Settled on him as my primary care doctor without doing a ton of research, because I felt comfortable in my conversations with him. I have started getting older, and recently started putting on weight. In my most recent checkup with Dr. Lehman, he commented on my added weight, and seemed to want to pin every health concern on it. I was previously 'skinny', and I am now mildly overweight but not obese. I am not the most active person in the world, but I eat relatively healthy and I try to at least go for a walk everyday. I told Dr. Lehman this after he commented on my weight, and he suggested that I work even harder to lose weight. Given that it has been scientifically proven that weight is not an accurate indicator of health, this made me question Dr. Lehman's expertise. It also made me feel uncomfortable. Sadly, I will not be returning to Dr. Lehman.
