Time for him to retire! Gave bad advice about surgery - thank goodness I found a new doctor!

Torn cornea, really bad. One half of face swollen with water streaming continuously from injured eye, could barely open the other eye too. Dr was extremely patient with me, and had the dry british wit about him. My injury was terrible but his wit kept my mind off of it. My eye is fine now, 3 months since incident. He will treat you like a child, but I really didn't mind that :) Was quite entertaining for me :) He knows his stuff & did a fab job for me, had 3 visits in all.

If you are looking for an eye surgeon, look elsewhere! I am writing on behalf of a family member (cancer patient) whose eye is completely "botched" because of Dr. Inkeles. My family member ended up in the ER at Morristown and then transported to University Hospital as a result of a terrible elective eye surgery. Aside from performing a terrible surgery, this physician did not check with any of my family members cancer doctors or HCP's before performing surgery. He did not do any pre-op screening to decide if the patient was even a candidate for ELECTIVE surgery at this time. This is completely negligent as a HCP. I am writing this message in hopes to save another patient or more importantly to help this Dr. make his decision to retire!

I've been a patient of Dr. I for the past 6 years and have always found him to be professional, thorough and efficient. I've complimented him on the way he takes care of my eyes and the way he addresses any concerns I (or he) may have. I am very comfortable with his personality and demeanor -- and the manner in which he concentrates on my personal needs.

If I could give him less than one star, I would! I agree with all the previous reviews regarding him wearing his mask below his nose. What’s the point? And the cowboy boots are not professional at all. I would understand if he had a personality to go with the boots, but he doesn’t. Time for him to retire with his horrible bedside manners and lack of listening skills. He is very condescending as well. When I tried to explain to him about why I was there, he didn’t seem to understand because he was too busy trying to correct petty things rather than listen to me. He says to me “if you say things like that, you’re gonna get stupid answers.” Who says that? He also gave me eye drops as a means to correct a problem that wasn’t the cause. I told him my eyes aren’t dry and he says “well who knows...It may help.” He obviously thinks I’m stupid. The staff here also is in need of a lesson on friendliess and communicating what their role is. Stay far away from this doctor and office.

Had a 1:15 appointment and didn’t get out of the office until after 4:30. On top of that all of the time waiting was in a crowded hallway with many other patients. The doctor didn’t even wear his mask correctly - it was below his nose the entire afternoon. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I will never go back to this practice.

Dr. Inkeles is checked out. Amidst the COVID pandemic, he’s wearing his mask with his nose hanging out. Then continues to use a shared eye dropper off his desk that clearly wasnt sanitized. He pokes and prods at your eyes and if your body gives any kind of natural reaction, like flinching or blinking, he tells you to get over it or that you’re making it difficult for him. He has no “bedside manner” at all. After my visit was finished, I had to pry for what the outcome was. Just an all around poor experience with him. And his boots. Whats up with the boots???
