Dr. David Hood, MD

Im actually a little disappointed two years later . In 11-2023 I went to see Dr Hood for complaints of feeling like something was stuck in my throat . He did the scope or cam exam(larynscopy ) to look at larynx and tonsils .. I had a complaint of feeling one tonsil bigger than the other . After exam he said both tonsils the same size and he did send me to a ct of neck . Fast forward two years i now have a more continuous issue with globus sensation and when i looked back at records I saw he diagnosed me with LPR .. also mentions the redness and edema in larynx.. not once did he tell me anything or give me a prescription or an otc suggestion . I feel that he couldve done more and here i am with same issue not knowing i had LPR .. Seeing gastroenterolgy now . note: Not personable either

Had a somewhat confusing office visit with Dr. Hood. The office staff is very sweet and helpful. Upon Dr. Hood coming in for the exam, he performed some tests to assess my issue , like scoping the sinus , checking lymph nodes, etc. But when that was done, we didnt get a chance to discuss the rest of my symptoms, and we left the exam room with me not knowing we were finished. At the front desk, I was basically told have a great day and give a call back if you have any more issues. And that is where the real issue lies. I was needing a plan of attack for my problem. I was handed a brochure describing my problem, but really no solutions . It was kind of like talking to an Autistic individual. I think he needs to hire a followup nurse to step in and do an exit interview with patients so they can leave feeling like they are on the right track.

Quick and to the point. Very busy practice so no time to chat. Explained each procedure well, his findings, and took the time to explain. Not overly warm and fuzzy but did engage when asked what brought him to the field of otolaryngology. Seemed knowledgeable. Appointment was quite fast, short wait time.

Very poor communication with him. He did not listed to my complaint and never explained the cause of my problem to me. I have read what his prescriptions will will treat and they will not help me. Poor excuse for a doctor.

That the office got me in so fast.Any questions I asked Dr. Hood answered.Thank you Dr Hood.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Hoot. He gave me a thorough evaluation, gave me good advise, and I left feeling I had the answers I need. I was taken back immediately for my appointment, and was in and out in a timely manner. I recommend Dr. Hood!

Does not listen to you. Is very rushed and acts like he can’t be bothered. Needs a class on bedside manners. Never again.

I agree with the other negative reviews here that Dr Hood will rush you and not listen to you. He will also order unnecessary procedures that are an out-of-pocket expense. The lack of communication and the billing issues I had with this office is why I will not return. He needs to work on his bedside manners I find work elsewhere.

My appointment with Dr.Hood went very well. Glad I found him! He is on the quiet side but he listened and his diagnosis was right on. I give him a solid 5+.

This man has no compassion, no ability to explain things to regular people, and is in a perpetual rush. He makes you feel very small, like you don’t matter. You’ll walk out of there feeling worse off than when you walked in. He needs to find another profession so he can stop making good people feel awful.

Dr. Hood listened to and fixed my issue that took a while for my PC Dr to try and figure out. It was nice he had late hours! He’s a little more on the quiet side but, that just told me he was listening to what I was saying and figuring out what the issue was while I was talking! I highly recommend Dr. Hood and will be his patient for a long time!

Have been to him 4 or 5 times over the past decade. He always listens and gets right to work. Always addresses my issues and explains things well. Very nice guy, not a big talker but he is def. like one of those super smart guys. I guess some people want a jokester or real talkative guy. As far as ENT's he's mine for life, wouldn't consider another.

I was referred to Dr Hood by my primary physician and I’m glad I was!! I had seen other ENTs over the years because of a cyst on my larynx & all of them said we just need to watch it to see if it gets bigger. Dr. Hood was the first to diagnose and treat the problem. I saw him for a follow up visit as well and same experience with he and staff. Consequently, I no longer have an irritating cyst on my larynx. I can't thank him enough. He was so patient-centered, and made me feel comfortable. I thoroughly recommend him!

I would highly recommend him!! I have been coming to Dr. Hood for years for my ear Problems, and the staff and office are always nice and professional and clean. On this visit, I was more worried than usual about some thing I had not experienced before, and Dr. Hood handled my concerns with compassion and answered all of my questions. I felt he was particularly patient with me even though I wasn’t quite sure what I was asking and therefore kept asking the same question over and over. Dr. Hood put me at ease with the reassurance and proactive treatments to avoid my ear pain. Thank you so much!!

The women at the front desk were incredibly kind. So was the woman who took me back to an examination room. However, that kindness stopped there. Dr. Hood was in a rush, he didn't explain anything he was doing. In fact, he wouldn't make eye contact with me. Everything he did, I had to ask what and why he was doing it and he seemed annoyed with me when I started asking question. He wanted to put a scope up my nose and look at my throat and vocal chords but I wouldn't let him. Again, he didn't tell me he was going to do that. I had to ask him when he grabbed the device off of the wall. He became even more confrontational with me when I told him no and stormed out of the examination room. This man should be working in a laboratory where he doesn't work with people.

Office staff was efficient and wait time was minimal. Once in exam room there was also a very short wait. When Dr Hood came in he seemed rushed. I had decided not to continue at this time with exam and was explaining this. Because he was not listening to me or answering questions he and proceeded with exam to my surprise. At the end of exam there was very brief explanation and he abruptly left. I wasn’t sure if he was done or not, I had to go out in hallway to ask if I was done.

Absolutely perfect and very gentle

Very concise, answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable of my condition.

Dr. Hood is extremely knowledgeable and pinpointed my nasal bruise right away. I was so incredibly relieved to hear that my nose was not broken! Though quiet, Dr. Hood was very kind, listened to my issue and had been extremely helpful with my nose and sinus/ear issues. He’s fantastic! Highly recommend!
