Efficient, Yet Caring and Thorough
Dr. Hinchman and High Desert Heart and Vascular provide outstanding care. I felt respected, not dismissed, by Dr. Hinchman. He read through the detailed medical history I provided, along with my other available medical records. This review, and a prior calcium scan, raised several concerns about the health of my heart, so he ordered the necessary tests. I would rather that he have the data he needs to properly assess the condition of my heart, and prescribe a wise course of treatment, than just 'wing it' so the 'patient seen and diagnosed box' can be checked. Some 'corporate medicine' health care providers in my past have done this, with regard to orthopedic and other issues. I recommend Dr. Hinchman without reservation.

Go elsewhere!
When my wonderful cardiologist retired from St. Al's, and I was unhappy with the nurse practitioners they assigned for my care, I tried Dr. Hinchman at High Desert Cardiology. He ordered a number of tests which were conducted, but Medicare refused to cover them, deeming them as being 'medically unnecessary.' I fought with Medicare, but they wouldn't budge. I got a runaround from Hinchman's office, and they gave me several different versions of the story, also climing they'd talked with Medicare. After six months of nonsense from High Desert Cardiology, and their refusal to answer my calls, visits, and questions, I had to pay for the tests myself. This office can't give you a straight answer, and Hinchman won't face up to his mistakes. He's terrible!

Cardio care
We absolutely love Dr. Hinchman! He is treating both my husband and I. I have FMD and it is refreshing that he is so knowledgeable. We found him to be engaging and empathic and in a great mood! Highly recommended by my husbands primary care doctor who is also seeing him.

Very professional and thorough
I have been under his care for many years. Dr. Hinchman has always been thorough in his analysis of my issues and willing to share in detail the results of his analysis and his thinking behind his recommended treatments. He always answers all of my questions, and I trust his judgement. I like to have a thorough understanding of all my medical issues so that I can participate in the decisions about my care, and Dr. Hinchman is very much on board with that and provides the information that I need.

Fantastic bedside manner, answered my questions and those of the patient, my wife. He did cardioversion on my wife today and it was an amazing success. Truly not sure where these low scores are coming from

The first time I thought he may just be having an off day. He greeted me with "Why are you here?" and his demeanor did not improve. His body language is closed off. Minimal eye-contact, slouching, sighs: almost as being there were a chore. His cologne was also overpowering in the small exam room. Second time was probably even worse. Poor explanation of why I needed a catheter to my heart and what the procedure actually was. Not going again. Techs were absolutely outstanding. Sad to leave them.

Dr. Hinchman may be knowledgeable, but he is very cold and lacks empathy. His nurse isn't any better. We will be choosing another doctor for continued care.

He listened to me and my history. Did not rush. Patient listener. He was obviously interested and concerned. He checked my symptoms, developed a plan and corrected my AFib with a cardioversion in May. What's not to like?! He knows his stuff! Besides curing my AFib he is dedicated to making sure it does not return. He was very helpful reducing my drug costs. I'm looking forward to continuing with him as he helps me and my heart over the coming years!

Dr. Hinchman has credentials but lacks the ability to communicate as a caring individual. There is a lack of any bedside manner.. He is passionate about his opinion and is not accepting of disagreement.
