I mistook Dr Heyer’s indifference for thoughtfulness. When I was under observation it was ok, just labs and routine tests, the office staff was very pleasant. When the crisis struck early October, it took me until December 27 to get the biopsy done which turned positive. Dr Heayer did not believe it was necessary. He was never there. All my communication was through his nurse whom I used to respect and trust. I learned the results from another compassionate doctor, who enabled me to overcome the initial shock, cope, regroup and start looking for a solution all over holidays. I saw Dr Heyer early Jan, when he was finally ready to share the news and was quite surprised we knew. When I asked him why he didn’t contact me earlier, he defiantly responded he was not there. Well, what’s new? We walked out of his office that day NEVER to be followed up. Nobody called to check if I needed any assistance, or how I was doing under dismal circumstances. We were on our own.

Dr. Heyer cares and takes time with you to help you understand the processes your body is going through. My wife and I asked many questions. We never felt rushed. I always had a great experience with all of the staff. (Even though it was not my favorite time in my life.)

Dr. Heyer is wonderful physician - very knowledgeable, patient, caring, and compassionate. He spent 45 min with me and answered all of my questions and concerns without an ounce of impatience. I would highly recommend him. Just overlook his front desk staff who need remedial training in customer service.
