I had a very bad experience with Dr. Galt and his staff. I scheduled surgery after dealing with them for 6 months and 48 hours before the surgery, (after changing the time of the surgery 3 times), he backed out of the surgery. I had told his assistant that I would expect more professionalism after I made 10 phone calls over many months which were ignored, then waited 3 hours and his response was to back out of my surgery after I went on disability, got time off work, complied with all...

My visit w/ Dr Galt w/ in stark counterpoint w/ other excellent doctors I've had and trusted at Southern Oregon Ortho such as Paul Stenenberg. Galt was impatient and unwilling to answer questions to the point of rudeness. The details of my MRI had not been reviewed with me and I had to drag this info out of him. I would definitely not recommend this doctor. If you want a doctor who will listen, patiently answer questions and review options with you, this is not your doctor.

Dr. Galt spent 10 minutes with me reviewing my knee X-rays after an hour wait to see him. He did not apologize for the wait, yawned throughout my appointment, and did not make eye contact. As far as explaining my options, he handed me an information sheet, then told me I would need a knee replacement. I followed up with another surgeon who advised physical therapy, which has solved my knee pain.

Spring of 2014, Dr. Galt implanted a metal plate in my right humerus because a radiated cancer tumer had severly eroded the bone. In March, 2016, the pain returned to the area, so Dr. Galt had xrays and an MRI done, revealing the top screw holding the plate had come loose. Dr. Galt advised me he had concerns about redoing the repair because he is not an oncologist and referred me to a OHSU, Portland oncologist surgeon who accepted my case and rerepaired it. I applaud his professionalism.
