scheduling issues
I am highly disappointed and disheartened after my appointment today with Dr Franco. To be fair, overall, the appointment went well, so this review is not meant to indicate incompetence in light of Dr Franco himself per se. However, i was informed upon checking out, by the receptionist, that this was Dr Franco’s last day. First, why could Dr Franco not tell me this himself? Second, why would i even be scheduled as a new patient appointment with a doctor who is leaving…who i will only see one time? Absurd! It reflects poorly at best on his integrity and on the integrity of the hospital and scheduling department and is simply horrible practice! Further, i was supposed to have two other things done today before leaving, per Dr Franco, which the staff did NOT ensure were done: 1) chest x-ray 2) sign medical release forms. Hopefully, i will be able to be proactive enough to get these aspects completed on my next visit, which is now with a nurse practitioner. Again, very discouraged…

Dr. Franco, Our Doctor Of Choice
Dr. Franco took care of my husband in the hospital last summer. We were very impressed with him and my husband became one of his regular patients. He has been extremely helpful medically, explains things thoroughly and is an outstanding pulmonologist. We trust his judgment on how to treat my chronically ill husband. We are totally pleased with the care he gives my husbsnd.

Waited for two hours just to have a prescription renewed for a Cpap. BEWARE, they double book. He doesn't respect my time, so why should I pay for his time.

I like Dr. Franco just fine but, unfortunately, his staff is so inept it makes me hesitant to overly recommend him. I have found him to be caring and helpful regarding my sleep apnea diagnosis and treatment. I have had to wait as much as 4 weeks (and 8 phone calls) to obtain a refill on meds; prior authorizations have taken 3 weeks or more and staff has lied about submitting them to my insurance company when they said they did.

I saw Dr. Franco for the first time when the VA sent me there. He had a great staff of courteous people and really took his time to listen to my problems and evaluate everything. It was an overall pleasant experience. He is very knowledgeable as one would expect.

I never got an appointment. I've tried several times to make an appointment without success. I call only to reach one person who has to transfer me to appointments. This person never picks up and will not return a phone call for one of the several messages I've left.

Dr. Franco made me feel very comfortable when normally I get anxiety going to doctors, He spent over 20 minutes with which was surprising because I am use to physicians spending under 5 minutes. He seemed knowledgeable in Narcolepsy which many sleep specialist are not. His office staff was very nice and got my medication in my pharmacy quickly. In he past it took longer because my insurance always required a prior authorization and I was use to waiting over 2 week with my other sleep specialist.

Does not listen at all, tries to over talk you. will look at you like you are nuts when describing whats going on with yourself, so be careful if you are embarrassed to talk about your issues, cause you will probably leave crying like i did. Had a very BAD attitude over all, felt rushed like i was just wasting his time. In all my years i can honestly say this was close the the worst experience, i already was tired, stressed, and didn't feel good. His office staff was very nice, this guy WAS NOT!
