Dr. David Farnen, DPM

Have had a persistent infection and pain in toes that have had surgery. Dr. Farnen cultured the infection, isolated the types of bacteria and had a medication compounded by a pharmacy that specializes in compounding. This finally resolved the problem. He is thoughtful, thorough and professional.

After having multiple surgeries for hammertoe correction, osteotomy, metatarsal shortening, and bunionectomy, my foot was worse than ever—-until I met Dr. Farnen. With minimally invasive surgery that allowed me to return to work right away he expertly fixed everything and now I’m back to running long distances without pain or the need for my wife to rub my feet all the time. I highly recommend him and The Foot and Ankle Institute.

Just everything!! I love Dr. Farnen. I love him being genuine. He actually cares for his patients and their well being. I have so many good things I could say about Dr. Farnen. But I will just leave it with..if you are for a genuine person and a great podiatrist. He is the #1

While I initial had a challenging experience with a scheduling issue, Dr. Farnen personally called me and asked me to come in for an appointment and I'm so thankful I did. Dr. Farnen spent a lot of time with me discussing my three separate foot issues. He listened, made recommendations and was very interested in making sure I felt good about my treatment. Highly recommend him!!

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Farnen. The condition he is treating me for is rare. He tried a few things before I decided to go ahead with the surgery. I appreciated that a lot because I have had a bad experience with foot surgery. But the whole experience has been nothing short of amazing. He has such a great manner about him, and is very thorough, but most of all, he listens to you. Makes you feel like you matter. Some doctors are totally opposite. And you can’t forget his staff. Each and every one of them have been great.

Doctor Farnen had part of my toenail removed for biopsy without any anesthesia by a completely different person. I tried talking to her but she ignored me as she dug in with the toenail scissors. Doctor Farnen said there needed to be a follow-up appointment. I specifically asked if it would cost anything. He said no, it would be quick. A month later I get billed. I called and left a message asking what happened. Doctor Farnen could not be bothered to call back in two weeks, so I called again. He left a message saying "You are responsible for paying it." The only thing we really have is our word. Doctor Farnen did not keep his word. Moreover don't buy it if they try to push their crappy $50 anti fungal pens on you. You can get an anti fungal pen at most stores for less than half of that price. After all was said and done, my toenail issues have not been fixed.

Dr. Farnen is an awesome doctor. We've seen him on several occasions. He is always his jolly self. So glad we found him.

I visited Dr Faren in his Columbia office. He was very friendly and helpful, listened to my concerns and helped me with my toenail issues. Him and his staff were very polite and helpful. Definitely will be back to see him

I really enjoyed seeing Dr Farnen. He made me feel welcome and like we'd known each other for years. He was especially careful to ensure I felt no pain and I could tell he was genuinely concerned with my well being. They also worked me in on no notice at all as a new patient. We saw Dr Farnen for a consult about my daughters flat feet and leg pain. He directed all the conversation to her (she's 9) and made her feel special and respected. His evaluation and conservative recommendations regarding inserts and shoes are already helping her feel more comfortable and we can highly recommend him for pediatric needs.

Dr Farnen is a miracle worker. I came in to see Farnen because I had an ingrown toenail procedure done improperly prior to seeing him. As soon as I stepped into the office I felt welcomed. The entire staff was excellent. Each of the people that I interacted with were so unbelievably kind and attentive. I immediately felt taken care of, even after my fear from the prior procedure. You can expect to be completely cared for if you decide to see Dr Farnen. The man really knows his stuff. The procedure was quick and painless compared to the one I had two weeks prior. The other piece of the messy puzzle was that I needed to go to Honduras on a medical mission trip just two and a half weeks later. I was able to go because of Doctor Farnen and his staff and I could not be more thankful for all of their help. If you enjoy upbeat and positive atmospheres, you should also highly consider coming here. So fun to be around. I want to go back even though I no longer have any issues!
