Dr. Engel was referred to me for my father by a childhood friend. Dr. Engel got to assist my father . I was so pleased with him. I wanted to have a cardiologist to see me every year. So I decided to have him as my cardiologist. He gives me a thorough check up and he answers all my questions with interest. I recommend him highly.

Superb physician and person
We first met Dr. Engel a few years ago, when he took over care of our 91 year old mother. He reviewed her records, answered all of her questions and gave her a thorough examination. Throughout the process and in subsequent appointments with her he was both reassuring and straightforward and greatly improved the quality of her treatment. Since her death a few years ago, he has provided care to both myself and one of my sisters - and we couldn't be more pleased as we have also received superb treatment.

Dr. Engel is so outstanding!
I have been going to Dr. Engel for Cardiology help since 2004. I have recommended family and friends to him many times. Dr. Engel is exceptional in his medical knowledge, the application of his science and his incredible kindness, humility and decency! My wife and I travel far to be cared for by Dr. Engel but for us it is so well worth it. Obviously, we think the world of him.

Doctors from a Brooklyn hospital wanted to do open heart on my 86 year old father and cut into his carotid artery in his neck. Dr Engel looked and listened to my father and his heart and said his heart is strong. All we need to do is monitor him every six months No surgery needed right now. Thank god

Wonderful bedside manner (I agree with other reviews) BUT on the first visit he recommended heart surgery. So I got another opinion. That second cardiologist was "shocked" and recommended a $10 medication... maybe surgery in 10-20 years? So if you want aggressive care, he's your man
