Dr. David Eisenman, MD

I had increasing hearing loss in one ear over a 3.5 year period which ultimately resulted in complete loss of hearing in that ear. I had seen multiple ENT's during this time without any improvement. Dr. Eisenman diagnosed my condition in 15 minutes and scheduled surgery a few weeks later. My hearing was significantly restored immediately and continued to improve after the padding and gel packs were removed.

I had an office visit that lasted less than 10 minutes. The doctor was mediocre and didn't seem to care much about my issue. The worse part came with the bills I received. $263 for seeing the doctor and $192 for a facility charge. I did not have a procedure or anything like that. I was shocked by the facility bill. The office told me every patient there is billed this way at UMD. I've never received a facility bill for a regular doctor office visit. $455 in total for my short appointment. Usually, the doctors I go to are about $125 for an office visit. Not worth the cost to go to UMD.

I spent a week over the phone with Dr. Eisenman's office trying to schedule a visit, only to be told I need a referral (my insurance clearly states it's unneeded). Even still, I had a referral sent over three times (despite my primary care physician being in the same system and having made the referral available electronically). I was then told that the next available appointment would be 2 months out! After taking the day off from work, I then proceeded to wait 3 hours for a no show doctor.

Dr.Eisenman has changed my life. Not only Is he an exceptional doctor, he Is a wonderful person. I can't say enough positive things. The only, and biggest problem Is dealing with the large University of Maryland's organization. It's massive and trying to figure out who to call, get a phone call returned was a nightmare. Luckily, Dr.Eisenman shared his cell number and email address to discuss any questions concerning my surgery. The problems start when u need copies of medical records, etc
