Rude. Hateful. Cold.
I attended a visit with my father-in-law concerning prostate cancer. After telling us the scan results, he told us my father-in-law would be on oral medication and radiation treatments for 2 years, as if there are no other treatment options. Duong refused to discuss surgical options and when we asked why, he became very angry and shouted he could bleed out and die. Every question was met with anger and his answers were not informative. We still do not know the pros and cons of the treatment he prescribed. The only con to surgery Duong could give us is he could bleed out and die, which is a risk for all major surgeries. He treated us as though we had wronged him in some way just by being there and how dare we ask questions. When you are given devastating news like this you expect it to be coming from a warm compassionate person not someone that is cruel and inhumane. Duong shouldn't be allowed to work with people at all, much less people in need of care.

Would never recommend Dr. Duong to anyone ever.
Worst bedside manner of any doctor ever had. Very rude and rushing when we asked any questions. His patient treatment is very poor.

Awful experience
Husband was getting checked out for elevated psa. He would wait in the exam room for over 40 minutes for a 2-3 minute consult. Needed a biopsy and the procedure went fine. On the follow up with results visit we were told, 'It's cancer but we're not going to do anything about it. Here's a book, you can keep it. You can schedule an appointment for bloodwork in 6 months.' THAT WAS IT, no explanation, no elaboration, NOTHING. 2 to 3 minute visit MAX to be told you have cancer. Felt completely brushed off. We left that appointment so angry and confused. We asked around to a few medical professional friends and were referred to another physician and after 1 visit we are even more angry that there are options that we were not informed about and additional risks because my husband is young. Further testing and actions that can be taken. We learned more about his condition in the first 5 minutes of that visit than in 4 visits with Duong. I cannot recommend him to anyone. Just awful experience.

Very Rude and I question his patient respect
A unilateral ureteroscopy with lithotripsy, and stent placement. Surgery was late by 5 hours, but that could have been Hospital issue. No one ever explained why. Questions asked of Dr. Duong were met with the most brief, and blunt responses. When asking about the results of the CTI that he ordered, it was obvious he had not looked at it even the same day of the surgery. When discussing stent removal schedule, it was a matter of do it when convenient for him, or you will wait weeks before he has time for you again. We will not use Urology Associates of Nashville again.

Rudest Physician I have ever met
I had an appointment with Dr. Duong after having four kidney stones. I had several questions I wanted to ask, but when I would ask him a question, he would get so irritated and defensive. I felt like I was a complete inconvenience, and I was wasting his time. As a health professional myself, I could never imagine treating patients the way I was treated. It was the worst bedside manner I have ever encountered personally and as a professional. I would not recommend him to anyone (or anything).

????Horrible experience
Was with this provider less than 5 minutes and provided a urine sample. I then got a bill for $1700. They ran a ton of tests on my urine without even notifying me they were. Some of the labs were completely unnecessary. I also was making payments on my bill and was turned over to a collection agency and I'm still getting bills from other labs. Worst medical experience I've ever had with a provider and clinic.

Early morning appointment and was already over an hour behind. Did not even acknowledge that. Did not go over my family history. Spent less than 5 minutes with me and ordered a cat scan and follow up. One of the weirdest appointment I have ever had. Do not recommend.

I usually don't leave reviews, but for Dr. Duong I have to make an exception. My appointment with Dr. Duong was the worst physician/patient experience I have ever had. He is rude and condescending and does not listen at all. I was in serious pain and needed medical treatment, and I was treated as if I was simply seeking pain medication. I have never been so offended by a physician. At the conclusion of my appointment, he did not prescribe me any pain medication and suggested scheduling a surgical procedure in the next week or two. Needless to say, I found a new Urologist. Please avoid Dr. Duong for your own health.

Very dissatisfied patient in Nashville – Oct 03, 2020

When I went to my appointment at Urology Associates to meet with Dr. Duong, I had to wait for over an hour between the waiting room and waiting in the exam room for the doctor. When he finally came into my room, he talked to me for about 5 minutes. He didn't ask me questions. He said that out of my 4 UTIs only 1 was documentable but that he wanted to do an internal scope. When I asked a question to understand, he became defensive. I was then slapped with a nearly $400 bill. Waste of time & $.

Awful. He made his assessment about 30 seconds in, telling me there was nothing wrong, not listening at all to the symptoms I was trying to explain and the events leading up them . When I assured him there was definitely something wrong, as I know my body, he started making condescending remarks. To top it off - his office called my emergency contact and left a voicemail to confirm my appointment, Are you kidding me??

At first Dr. Duong seemed very knowledgeable of my issue. After some delays, he ended up scheduling my surgery with him for after his several week vacation instead of referring me to another urologist/surgeon. He then ended up making a mistake during surgery that would cause me to have subsequent surgeries later on. After admitting his mistake he became terrible, delaying scans, to the point that he even laughed at me for suggesting a surgery I would later have. I cannot recommend him to anyone.
