Dr. Deyle obviously does not care at all about patients with EDS. Be warned. Every other doctor at Mayo was incredible and validated every little thing that has gone wrong with my health. This doctor refused to even see me and simply consulted by phone with another provider. My Dr. advocating for me was internal to Mayo and explained multiple times that I showed every symptom and needed to be seen. I was advised immediately after to go to Patient Services because of the treatment received by Deyle. Dismissive, rude, and will make you feel like an idiot. Literally said I could not have the disorder only because of no past family diagnosis yet I don’t know half of my family and have no clue if they have it. Just a scummy human that shouldn’t be working at such a prestigious hospital. I never write reviews like this but this man is not a good doctor nor should he be practicing on patients that already deal with so much negativity through chronic illness.

"Dr. Deyle was immediately judgemental of EDS prior to even providing my medical history. The Breighton scale was not appropriately administered and it appeared he already made his decision before the physical examination. I would not recommend this provider for anyone with a chronic illness, chronic pain, or any chronic condition. After waiting months to get in, this was a disappointment and may impact my care for the future. "

I completely agree with the previous reviewer. It was word for word exactly the same for me. He was obviously bored and wondering how quickly he could get this over with. I felt ignored and talked down to. He was completely dismissive of me and my concerns. The reason I gave the 5 rating was because his intern was a good doctor and seemed to want to help. I may be projecting here, but he seemed a little embarrassed by the behavior of Dr. Deyle. This was my first time at Mayo, and will hopefully be my last. Very disappointing!

After this visit I will not return to Mayo for help. Dr. Deyle was dismissive, and tried talking me out of symptoms. He seemed annoyed and like I was wasting hi time. He undiagnosed a disorder based on his 5 minutes of seeing me, telling me I didn't 'look' like I had the disorder in question. That is not a viable diagnostic tool. The doctor that diagnosed me is a neurologist that is a specialist in this disorder. Dr. Deyle could not leave fast enough, and audibly sighed when he left our room. I wish Mayo would not say they diagnose and treat for illnesses for which they are not experts. I learned after the visit that Dr. Deyle is not even listed as an expert on the disorder. I've never felt so small, invalidated and just stupid for wasting mine and a doctor's time. Horrible.
