Dr. David Conyers, MD

My son is a highly regarded internist in Shreveport LA and a gentle soul. He is a body builder and stands 6'2. He could easily meet out retribution on my behalf to this much older 'physician'. David Conyers was a thug in MRHS, a Montreal high school which we both attended. He laughed when a smaller student unexpectedly punched me in the solar plexus and throat to demonstrate his newly-learned martial arts technique. I didn't retaliate and Conyers laughed at me, saying 'You can't hit Steve because he's smaller than you,' which was true. Conyers is a bully in my book. The Hippocratic oath is not in his bailiwick, I'd wager. I'd love him to meet my son and get the stuff kicked out of him. Not being a physician with an oath over my head, I'd like this thug punished. But I'm just old and cranky and would like an apology from David, instead. What other recourse do I have ?

Dr. Conyers performed a hand surgery on me that left me stiff and nonfunctional. He deviated from the original surgical plan that we had agreed upon, and he did much more surgery than he said he would. In his office he would only talk about his race cars. I really couldn't care about that. I just wish I had my old hand back.

He did a thumb joint reconstruction without evaluating my hand thoroughly enough to realize that I also needed carpal tunnel release. So I had to have two surgeries in 6 months. The second was by someone else, The first surgery resulted in a frozen joint in the treated thumb. His suggestion for that problem was that I get used to it. My new surgeon treated it in the second surgery. I regret very much my decision to have him do surgery on my hand.
