I Find This Practice To Be Uncaring
Upon my first meeting with Dr. Carleton, it was clear he hadn't read my notes. The nurses routinely come into the examining room without so much as an introduction before launching into vitals. They don’t do standard things like confirm my medicines. When I go for a shot, no one acknowledges my presence. I offer my name, only to be told some version of “I know who you are.” I once watched an elderly woman pushing a wheelchair with another elderly woman struggle to get through a door. There were three staff members within 10 feet of them and no one offered to help. Once I arrived for a 2 p.m. appointment at 1:45 p.m. (as instructed) to find the reception area empty except for other confused patients. At 2:05 p.m., we had to find someone in the back. I have had to work with the billing department twice now to resolve issues. In both cases, I found the staff member to be unprofessional or rude. This practice makes me feel awful, so I’m working on finding a new one.

Does Not Help You
Not good, no offer of support. Did not give me good care. Bad experience overall, went in sick and wouldn’t help bad practice, VA Physicians corrupt not helping when can to go to a specialist for moe appts and funds generation to practice, could have given medical advice but didn’t; wasn’t a good experience. Left sick and sicker due to no help and stress. Should have known Parham’s would have been lousy and it was. Lady in front trying to do her job but rude at times. Doctor would not help me and left still sick and sicker from the stress.

Having been a patient for a decade, I'm at a loss to explain my last experience. Sadly, it actually will be my last as I'm sure it'll be easy to replicate the experience elsewhere. Never heard back on the blood work.

I just called to schedule an appointment for my husband with Dr. Carleton and I was told that they would not see him, since we are self pay. I guess they figure that they can get more money out of the insurance companies than they can us. This is why insurance is so unaffordable.

Initially, nice and understanding but when the disease or symptoms become complicated he is quick to pass you off to another provider or back to the referring doctor.

I went to Dr. Carlton highly recommended as a second opinion. I faxed all my records to him prior to my appointment. I was told he would not review them prior to my appointment. When I got there he came into the room I would say did the bare minimum of an exam. He ordered more labs. I had prior labs that were abnormal. I had to reach out to get the results of my labs. I was told nothing was wrong as my new labs were normal. However, he never addressed my abnormal labs. Once I continued to question the labs and what the next step was. He then stated it was my PCOS. I called my OBGYN and they said my abnormal labs had nothing to do with PCOS. Then he stated that I was overweight and that was the cause. He then stated I should get another opinion. I would not recommend anyone go see him as he puts no effort in helping the patient. He spends no time with the patient. All he does is make up an excuse if he doesn't know the answer.

I guess he is ok. Blood tests and urine sampled every 6 months but no feedback. No education about my disease. No rheumatol. Available where I live. Refers me to my dentist and optometrist for questions I have about symptoms.

During my first visit, Dr. Carleton made good use of office notes and test results provided by my primary care physician. He also listened well to what I had to say. I know that because he reminded me during my second visit of observations I made during my first visit. Dr. Carleton is as competent and communicative as any doctor I have encountered - which is a large number.

As new patient I thought he was going to be a great doctor. Came in for knee pain and was given a shot in the knee No information to follow up if knee still not feeling good or not . I Can hardly walk was advised when called then went to the office to go to emergency room. This Doctor is a specialist and should know how to treat arthritis if that is what he think it is. Should have recommended if shot do not make the knee and leg feel better to call in estimate days from time shot given.

I have been having gout like pain in my feet for sometime until Dr. Carleton came up with a ritual of pill taking that has totally eliminated my pain. It was so bad sometimes I could only walk with a walker. Now I am having NO foot pain. He is a Moses in my book.

Dr. Carleton answers all my questions at a level in which I can understand. He takes time to explain what is going on and whether or not something is related to my disease. He is very friendly and is always on time. He uses a portal to provide the results of my blood work. Overall, I am extremely happy with the level of care I am receiving.

Although I am not a severe case - I still have a lot of pain. I would like to be treated by my Rheumatologist in an understanding way. I do not think that being told to check the portal is a good way to communicate with patients.
