Definitely recommend Dr. Campbell
Dr. Campbell was my ophthalmologist for over 20 years until we moved. He treated my glauacoma and performed two cataract surgeries. He is personable, answers questions and is an excellent physician and surgeon.

Dr Campbell discharged me as a patient
As a patient of almost 5 years, along with my husband, I saw Dr. Campbell and we discussed cataract surgery. The office manager told me the soonest appointment was more than 7 months away. She and I discussed possible other facilities I might try. ( Our schedule was going to be taken up shortly with extensive prostate cancer treatment for my husband). I was successful in getting an appointment just a few weeks later at St Luke's in Tampa. I notified the office so that my temporary appointments would be canceled. It was clear that I would be still going to Dr. C for my normal eye care. Then a month later I received a letter from Dr. Campbell( which his office manager knew nothing about), saying I was being "discharged' as a patient. No call, no explanation. I wrote him a letter I'd share here if there were room.

I have recommended Doctor Campbell to friends. I have found him to be thorough, informative and accurate. I went to a different ophthalmologist for a short while for reasons unrelated to Dr. Campbell, but was very dissatisfied with the results. I returned to Dr. Campbell. I have been happy with my decision.

problem is not Campbell, it is his office management but of course the office is HIS office and which HE controls. Medically fine but SRQ is rare with staff that believes it is doing the patient a favor. The only thing the staff cares about is getting patients to sign a piece of paper saying that the patient will be charge $50 for a no-show. Long wait for an early morning appointment is unsatisfactory - as it should be at any time of day but especially in the early morning.
