Punctured my kidney during stone removal.
He ‘wasn’t aware’ that it happened. It caused extreme pain with the stent. And after the stent was removed I began hemorrhaging from the kidney. Missed a month of work and had to get an embolism to stop the bleeding. Find someone else.

I like Dr. Burks a lot. I trust his judgment and knowledge implicitly. He is straightforward and doesn't beat around the bush when discussing the issues. Personally, I like that approach. I have, however, had issues with the staff responsible for coordinating tests done at University of Michigan clinics. Tests were either not ordered, or scheduled at the wrong location.

After reading the reviews provided, I decided to write my own. My experience over the course of 1 year with Dr. Burks has been complete dissatisfaction. He is rude, arrogant, untrustworthy, unprofessional and inconsistent. I am a Life Long urological patient and I will never return to Dr. Burks and his Dearborn office for treatment. Every pleasant review has not been my experience. PLEASE care for yourself enough to seek an alternative Doctor.

The appointment started out good in that he tried to understand my history only from reading my chart. He asked me too few diagnostic questions. Checked me. Said everything felt normal but then prescribed me one of the most dangerous antibiotics out there completely ignoring that my chart, right in front of him, states I am allergic to it. Had I not been in tune with my health, he would have put me in the hospital. He is wreckless and dangerous and does not pay attention to detail. Dont go.

I have been a patient of Dr. David Burks for the last 4 years. Dr. Burks spends a considerable amount of time with you, listens well and explains all of your issues so that you understand. The office staff is very friendly, helpful and the office is clean. I have had several procedures for kidney stones and would highly recommend Dr. Burks, he is a wonderful physician.
