Dr. Beck is the Best!!! He fixed my lower back!!
He was extremely knowledgeable yet didn’t throw it in your face like most surgeons. He was very kind and caring the whole time I had him as my doctor. He showed me where the problem was and said it needed to be fixed. I trusted him and he did what he said. Just a GREAT DOCTOR and a Wonderful Caring person.

Brain Tumor
I believe I seen Dr. Beck in February of 1986 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic. If this is the doctor who operated on me, I just want to say hello and thank you for the pleasure of knowing you and the fine work you performed. I am 73 years old and doing fine.

He does everything in his power to heal you!!
I had my first spine surgery in 2012, at which time Dr.Beck said to stop smoking prior to my operation. His gentle attitude made me want to do my best! So, I did quit smoking & never looked back! Subsequent operations were needed & all went perfectly! Latest surgery was grueling, but I couldn't have a better neurosurgeon than Dr. Beck! THANK YOU,!

Brain Trauma
I was in an accident and Dr beck was the kindest doctor. I then had to have another surgery and he’d moved to Mason City. He is truly the greatest. I’m so grateful to him.

Dr. Beck fixed my “busted neck,” which are his words, not mine. He is very professional and efficient. I went through this ordeal because I had a thing called “cervical stenosis,” which was not discussed with me by staff during my lifetime first emergency room experience at age sixty! The guy, a doctor, on duty sent me home without a cervical collar after a CT scan. I came in as an emergency after a 7:15 am MRI two WEEKS later showed bad stuff. Dr. Beck explained the seriousness of my situation in detail to my husband and me and I was admitted quickly. Dr. Beck fit me into his schedule after the traction he ordered was successful more quickly than expected. Here’s the deal: the guy is never going to be your pal. I’m enchanting and I found his bedside manner, ummmm, crappy. Can’t count off for that. Plus, he was way more personable at my final appointment. The pressure was off!

This doctor knows precisely what he is going to do to repair your spine. I have had several other neurosurgeons & lumbar surgeries in my life & there simply is NO comparing Dr. David Beck's technique, expertise & knowledge to ANY other surgeon. He is better than anyone at the U of I Hospitals & Clinics, Mayo Clinic, Abbott NW Hospital in Minneapolis or any Dr. in Cedar Rapids, IA. IF you need any type of spinal surgery or have issues there is only 1 Dr to see Dr. David BECK!

Dr Beck saved my life and treated me and my family with the utmost respect and dignity. I will never forget his kindness when I got a bit afraid before surgery. He accepted my call and took the time to reassure me. I amso grateful that people like Dr Beck exist! Thank you!
